They’re also working on WebOS AFAIK. There are some screenshots and posts in the PR talking about it.

What are some FOSS programs that you think are a far better user experience than their counterparts? (sh.itjust.works)

I used Plex for my home media for almost a year, then it stopped playing nice for reasons I gave up on diagnosing. While looking at alternatives, I found Jellyfin which is much more responsive, IMO, and the UI is much nicer as well....

Jellyfin would be great if only you could change subtitle colors. With HDR content, having pure white subtitles is eye-scorching.

Ha, you’re right. I’ll use Plex till then, but as soon as this feature hits WebOS, I’ll switch in a heartbeat. Jellyfin is so much cleaner and faster than Plex.

There’s a few devices out there that don’t offer NAT hairpin/loopback by default, such as Mikrotik.

Godot, it’s the most mature of the bunch. It’s a little different than Unity, but it’s definitely very user friendly, really powerful and has an active community.

The lack of “easy money”. A lot of companies have had accelerated growth due to an influx of investments which were mostly interest-free (or very low interest) loans . You didn’t have to have a good product - just overinflate your value till your IPO, then the value will determine stock price, everyone gets rich.

Now that interest rates are higher, investors want a lot more bang for their buck. Couple this with companies that no longer know how to make good products, now they’re just squeezing shit dry and scheming and scamming their customers to fulfill their one and only legal obligation: make more money for the shareholders.

The problem is that the kind of people that run these types of companies will first see the world burnt to ashes before losing profits and power.

So yes, they will fall, but they’ll be taking us down with them.

Hello! I’m looking for a foss weather app for android, so I went ahead to f-droid and tried a bunch of them, but didn’t find any that fully satisfies me: I want to be able to see the hourly forecast of any day of the week, not just the “global” forecast, and I want the weather service used not to require a credit card...

Just came back from riding Syracuse to Philly on highways and rail trails

My dad and I have done a ~1 week long tour each year since he retired, I put this luggage together for Vermont gravel, but ended up on a much more ‘touring’ oriented ride, following PA Bike Route L, and getting off the highway as much as possible in favor of gravel roads and rail/canal trails....
