When autonomous cars are good enough to just drive people around then yeah the companies should be liable, but right now they're not and drivers should be fully alert as if they are driving a regular vehicle.
It's still in its infacy, eventually it will replace humans entirely and the roads will be much safer. Right now it's just like improved cruise control and kind of pointless.
Some manufacturers have already said they will claim full responsibility for their cars in self-driving mode, which makes sense to do.
I got into Civilization rather late with their fifth entry. I was hesitant because as I get older I need more time to game than I do new titles. Still I picked up six with all DLC during the last sale. I have to say I am liking the changes. It was good to wait because Civ does need its DLCs to feel complete....
5 is superior imo, it's more simple to understand but has a lot to master. It's more visually appealing too, Civ 6 throws so much extra crap at you.
5 is more depth from simple mechanics. 6 is adding mechanics to try and make depth.
I'd recommend 5 for sure, though 2K are kind of scummy and put 6 on discounts to try and force players into that and no longer really put Civ 5 on sale cause they know people would rather buy that.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed the company is considering putting ads in traditional AAA games — titles that players purchase up-front for around $70 apiece. In the Q&A part of EA’s latest earnings call, Eric Sheridan from Goldman Sachs asked Wilson about dynamic ad insertion in traditional AAA games. Wilson said,...
If they are fullscreen ads that disrupt, then yeah pushback is expected. But they wont do this, they will slip them in slowly and people wont generally care.
Pushback from gamers only usually happens when its something like losing the ability to play the game - see recent helldivers controversy.
There should have been a pushback on microtransactions from the start, but people just said "well you dont have to buy them" and here we are.
There's already types of ads in video games. Fortnite is full of them in the way of 'crossovers' and virtual music festivals. Death Stranding had Monster Energy in. There's probably more too, they do it subtly and EA would start with their sports games, selling ads to show on the pitch for example like what they do IRL.

As games sure, they were alright. But they werent Halo games. Its one of the best trilogies of all time and ODST and Reach were also great additons. I think 343 dropped the ball massively and at that point just licensing the IP could have yielded some good games too as it was already tarnished anyway.
Its just an arbitrary mechanic added to justify an always online requirement. Helldivers had an offline option. There's still a game there without the need for "community involvement", the missions etc could be completely random or seeded for people who dont want to connect to a server.
Its always sad to see potential great games ruined by greed.
You are right, it does provide something. I just personally don't value it over a more typical online co-op setup. I just wish options weren't scary and implemented more.

This is one of those shitty products that you can see being shitty from a mile away, yet all the coverage and discussion around it gives it a life it otherwise wouldn't have had.
Or if there is a noticeable difference, you have to really listen for it. Which if you wanna do that, then fine, but the vast majority of the time usually have music on while they are doing something else and don't sit listening for every subtle difference, if one exists.
