Okay... random thought processes once again but -

TIL many things about language

1. colère means 'anger' in French
2. sortie means 'exit' in French
3. I have no idea what a 'reseignement' is even after google-translating it
4. 'todo' means 'to the max' in Tagalog, but seems to be used as 'all' in Spanish 'todos', much like French 'tout/tous'
5. Despite my French lessons and Tagalog knowledge of certain Spanish words, I cannot understand Spanish at all

I kinda hope to get an account on the waitlist of alpha.polymaths.social, but polyglot.city seems nice enough. I am in no way either a polymath nor a polyglot (well unless you count Filipino and English and class-smart French) but they seem best suited to my interests.

Heeey #Masto folk! Wondering if you guys can recommend me a good instance I can move to (must support Mastodon and run in Mastodon clients, but doesn't have to be Mastodon).

I find that fosstodon doesn't exactly suit my needs anymore, and I'm also thinking of moving to a much much smaller instance, especially:

• with generally techy people
• for many interests, eg linguistics crochet etc
• has rules similar to fosstodon's
• good moderation and fediblocking choices

hoooraaaaaay I have my iGCSE mocks tomorrow and I am so excited because I have THREE exams (English Language, Physics, French Reading) and I love all three yaaaay. Especially Physics - it's my strongest subject and every single question is so freaking easy.

43/45 on a French reading test isn't bad. I used to be soo shocked to get like 30/45 and realise that's a good pass.

Our teacher keeps saying "omg my work here is done". In early year 10 we were so shocked to see the papers and horrified at how hard they were (we had only just finished the imperfect tense).

Okay, so for some reason my head decided to bring up the topic of synthesia.

What colours do you see for the letters A, B and C?

If your answer is red, blue and yellow... same!

And I thought, "But wait, I grew up associating those colours! People are born with synthesia, but by definition this is synthesia, right? I associate History class with green because my History book was green. Can synthesia be learned by everyday people?"

Why does pre-exam week always make me sooo inspired to do a hundred things I shouldn't be?

Learn GoLang, crochet a scarf, try writing music again, participate on a competition, learn more music theory, jump down rabbit holes and rabbit holes as you fancy!

It would sound like such a good life to live... and ordinary people would say, "wow, you know so much!" because their heads are filled with subjects they were forced to learn and will never use because it's not their passion.
