Rules for winning an Anime fight: Always bring a sword to a gunfight, your fists to a swordfight, and a small, furry animal to a fistfight.

There definitely be some eldritch horror shit on that ship, yeah.

I agree with OP, TMP ships are beautiful and graceful and yet still have some nice angles... and while TMP uniforms must be as uncomfortable as all get-out, I also think they look the best. Excelsior is one of my favorite classes, and a lot of the ships they introduced for the first two Starfleet Command games, extrapolating outward to other classes, are also really fun.

I stopped reading at the phrase "purpose and people officer". I suffered from toxic levels of corporate bullshit when I was younger and I have a strong averse reaction to it now. Someone is getting paid six figures to have a bullshit title like that and it is ABSOLUTELY proof of what is wrong with the corporate class.

Not sure which UI you are using, but I know for Automatic 1111 there's an extension for 'Regional Prompting' that allows you to set certain parts of the image to be certain things. It's not perfect and it takes a moment to get a hang of the syntax, but I find that if you need something hyper-specific, it can really help.

Also don't be afraid to cycle through different models. I have a bit of a model/checkpoint addiction and I like to download things from CivitAI often, but that also means that I can try out different models and see if something is headed in the right direction better than one of my 'old standby' models. Sometimes I'll use the function that creates a grid of images changing small variables, turn down my settings a bit so it generates quickly, and just have it cycle the same prompt through all my different models to see which one gets the closest to what I had in mind, then refine up from there.

Very cool and strangely hypnotizing! Feels like it could be part of an ARG or something, but I suspect it isn't.

I generally run to ControlNet if I need something really specific; either finding an existing vector outline of a shape you want or sketching it in yourself, and then reinforcing it with a good prompt. This is the only way I've found to get good output that involves specific letters in logos, for example.

The downside, for me at least, is that ControlNet is always a resource hog and it always takes longer than a standard generation.

16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats.” 17 They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. 18 But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not.

Since the gnats were on people and animals everywhere, 19 the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the Lord had said.

Sorry, I was mostly being flippant and implying that the strangeness of it was a sign of the end of the world. ^^; So it was a roundabout attempt at dry humor. Sorry if it landed badly.

I suppose my more cynical side would say "I wouldn't be surprised at this point". Sometimes I do notice similarities between current events and things mentioned in the Bible, specifically Revelations, but I'm also not about to say that Armageddon is right around the corner. I have no logical stance to back that up with, either theologically or just logically.

But it sure as hell FEELS like it some days. >_<

Antarctica's mysterious Blood Falls aren't made by minerals after all (newatlas.com)

A bright red waterfall isn’t something you’d expect to see on the icy landscape of Antarctica, but that’s exactly what’s pouring out from the foot of Taylor Glacier. A team of scientists now claims to have solved the long-standing mystery behind the crimson waters of Antarctica’s Blood Falls.

... My first reaction to this was, "Why have I never heard of this?!"
My second was, "Actually, it's probably good I've never heard of it. It would've become the centerpiece of my Call of Cthulhu game years ago."

In practice, yes, this is precisely what I do. ^^; I mean, I'm not going to end friendships or start endless flame wars over voxels. It's not worth that much vitriol. But I saw something about yet another voxel game being launched and I had a classic Internet moment where I had to vent my frustration, and I thought this was as good a place as any!

I admit that I had buyer's remorse for a bit after immediately jumping to Kbin and finding out later that Lemmy existed. Lemmy's UI just looks friendlier and more colorful. But I'm sticking with Kbin-- no reason not to, really, since all (or most) of the content cross-pollenates!

I actually really liked Starlight! Ultimate, the newest flavor, is meh. Not bad, wouldn't buy it again. But I actually miss Starlight a little.

Work at a small-chain home improvement store, can confirm. Helped some dudes load 30 pieces of 16-foot trim on top of their minivan yesterday.
Once it's on the vehicle, it's their problem!
