Extremely hard plastic handle with ribbed texture, zip tie cinched tight. Possible to slip the ziptie off but not easy or convenient.

Also, it’s a funny image.

Sinister of course, meaning left handed.

I’m pretty sure the darkest ST episode was Enterprise’s Rogue Planet.

You can’t see a thing!

the finest moment in an already immaculate piece of television is all about the ways to enact violence without lifting a single finger

Rude. Garek worked really hard on that plan.

I have no interest in playing FO76, but for games where I really want to play but can’t rebind I use autohotkey. It’s trivial to write a rebind script to run before opening the game.

NV was non-Bethesda developers creating a game with Bethesda’s software. Hence the very different writing and structure.

If you want something that captures the experience of older Fallout games, the new Wasteland games have a lot of overlap while still being their own thing. Wasteland 3’s main structure resembles New Vegas in that you’re always trying to figure out what faction or combination of factions to support.

I really should try to get Fallout Nevada working again. I downloaded it but it glitched out for me in the main screen and I never spent enough time fixing it.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this top comment digging into the case. I was very confused by the SCOTUSBLOG link and dug around on my own wondering why everything was from 2020 at first, then going back to the article and feeling like it was really off the rails.

Looks like the standard has already been re-affirmed in other cases as incitement (knowing and intentional words to imminently cause lawless action) in order for a lawsuit to succeed.

The Louisiana Supreme Court did find that first responders (police, fire,EMT, etc) are indeed allowed to sue. There was some question of if they were disqualified from suing under the theory that getting attacked in a riot is just a job hazard for them. Vox might have taken offense to that for some reason.

This is all civil too, so no jail time or charges, just a legal fight about standards for culpability for the purposes of a civil case.

What's a common occurrence in your hobby that you think shouldn't be?

For me it’s driving while under the influence. If you couldn’t tell, I like me some ganja. However I have long since held the belief that it is utterly insane to drive while under the influence of most substances, with maybe nicotine and caffeine being the exception. All too often I see other stoners smoking and driving,...

No, I was used to PADI and certified by them (outside the U.S.). The place where I had the bad experience was affiliated with some U.S. organization I wasn’t familiar with.

Buying a ton of gear to replace skill, or just because all the YouTubers are pushing it is so common.

I’ve made a conscious effort in all my hobbies to push as far as I can with entry level gear. Only upgrade when I’ve worn it out or I can articulate why I personally need better. Helps from ending up with a bloated collection of useless expensive things.

I know. Like I said the shop had a US only organization I wasn’t familiar with and it was my first experience with recreational U.S. diving, which is why I specified.

I showed up in the U.S. expecting PADI, but being unfamiliar with how U.S. shops operated, and presumed that whatever non-PADI organization they were with would be similarly standardized. Clearly they weren’t. Which is why I didn’t go back.

IW4x is actually still really active if you want to play the original MW2 multiplayer.

That quick snap from turning relatively normal to feral is something I have to adjust to. Maybe that’s even how it happens in the newer games and I’m just not recalling it, but I always envisioned turning feral to be a much slower and more sporadic process. Like someone falling into worsening dementia over the course of many years, as opposed to a quick turn like in a zombie movie.

You’re absolutely right that the weak spot would be the same. Maximus was wearing T-60, and the design flaw was from the T-45s and apparently never fixed anyway.

Surely something will come along and save the Boo-urns children.
