Today in Battleford, Saskatchewan, we had a street festival and at this event were several food trucks. We got Bao buns and spring rolls from one. The Bao on the left is a brisket filled one and the one on the right is pork belly… Wow, so good. Plus the weather was great for mid September here it was 28*C
I’m using the Test Flight beta app, curious on others’ overall experience with the platform so far. I never had an Instagram account so I’m not really sure yet what I even want from it. I’m just excited on all things Fediverse and I’m happy to be part of the growing numbers....
Ai will give opportunities to the handicapped in a very near future. Imagine a paraplegic artist or coder or sculptor who can describe to a machine their 'vision' . They can do that now even with a picture. Soon they can do that with a 3d machine. I don't mean 'make a painting of the mountains' but instead 'cadmium red mixed with yellow brush stroke in circles'.
When you think of AI try not to think of the bad actors. Try to think of the good things that can come from it. All the worlds that will be opened up for people.
I apologize that my choice of language was insulting to you. I am disabled(using your word, tho I grew up with and an comfortable with my own terms), so I rarely think about terminology for myself. I'll try to remember I'm the future.
As per your point, well I do see a problem with excess profits on the backs of other people, I also realize that innovation does not come for free. However you should probably look at open source AI . It is one of the fastest growing areas. I think if you are concerned about privacy and profits it would probably do you good to work with campaigns that are trying to get legislation passed in this area.
I think your point is kind of silly. There are lots of people that can do lots of things but still people that can't. I am also disabled. But I realized there are other people who cannot do what I can do that are also disabled. I think it's pretty clear I was speaking of them. I'm not sure why they are suddenly unimportant in terms of a discussion. When speaking of a discussion, the most incredible breakthroughs are the ones that should be touted, imo. And also in my opinion, the ability to create where you couldn't before, the ability to express your imagination that has been locked inside your head, is the greatest gift AI will give.
Maybe you don't feel the same way. That's fine but don't discount people with disabilities who cannot write or create right now.
Such people are not hard to find it's just that this discussion is never centered around them. Why? Because this was out of the realm of possibility. This was just not on the radar for people.
Don't know if maybe you don't know when the settings but you can change it to just @mentions with suppress @everyone. You could also do that for individual channels within each discord.
For instance I have probably 100 servers that I belong to. But I only have three channels within each of the servers that I want all notifications. Everything else is set to just direct mentions with @everyone suppressed.

It's so funny to me this person don't ever seem to have the same concerns about the nose jobs, boob jobs, lip enhancements, etc that are also being done on teens AND CHILDREN. I hear nothing from you about the performance enhancing drugs for teenage boys, or the altering of the bodies of gymnasts who also start in their early childhood. In the case of the latter, they get stunted growth because the intensive amount of training affects hormones and delays puberty. Gee what other thing that you argue about sounds similar to that?

But now I fully expect that you go to all of gymnastics forums where they're talking about young female gymnasts and male athletes,l and tell them that you don't think they should do those sports anymore. We don't know if the fediverse will succeed yet on a larger scale. Sometimes migration is instant, like with digg, sometimes it takes time, like with Facebook exodus which is continuing as i type this. Not to mention people weren't prepared for this migration so none of the tools to make it a replacement have been in place. But now people are actively working on building out the community. Maybe we'll know in a couple years if this is a successful endeavor on a Reddit type scale. But we don't know yet.

Prior to the protest I had over 100 Stablediffusion subreddit links open, with guides and tips helping me to better utilize Stable Diffusion and discovering models. But now I can't access any of the knowledge that was helping me do my work....
