So I joined a new gym last year and was pleasantly surprised. They gave me a smart card to get in and out, that’s it, no app, no accounts, no nothing. Well, today I got to the gym and saw the announcement that they are phasing out the access with the smart card and starting to use, you guessed it, an app....
I'd speak to management and voice your concerns regarding the app, and ask if there is another method available for entry. If not, I'd cancel my membership and look for another gym that respects my privacy.

I use YouTube without being logged in and have some youtubers that I page manually from time to time to watch their new videos. Do you know of an extension for Firefox to privately add and manage those youtubers?
For me it was when they banned Blitzchung from a Hearthstone tournament and took away his prize money for supporting Hong Kong freedom. I haven't regretted it since they don't make good games anymore like they did when I was growing up.
I’m happy to adopt a new podcast app if it has sponsorblock natively or through a plug-in. Otherwise let me know if there’s some other way to make it work. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as all of the segments tagged for skipping are crowdsourced which would also work for Podcasts.

I recently got clued into the fact that you can enable side-loading on Roku devices. However, I have no idea where to get the apps for it. Since Rokus don’t run Android, I can’t install APKs like I did on my Nvidia Shield TV. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

On Monday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis issued the fourth indictment of former President Donald Trump this year, this time for activities related…
Probably because they see it as a weaponization of the justice department. Several of the indictments are using novel legal theories, and the timing coincides with Trump's reelection campaign.
First off I'd recommend investing in Real-Debrid, it's a service that caches torrents for streaming and costs about $3 per month. It's required for most of these apps, or at least highly recommended.
Streamio + Torrentio has already been mentioned, Syncler is really good and easy to use, many extra features with Syncler+ but it's not required.
Kodi with addons works really well, but requires some tinkering to get started and basic maintenance / troubleshooting if something goes wrong. Check out old.reddit.com/r/addons4kodi some good addons are Fen, Seren and Umbrella but there are many others, Otaku is good for anime.
Mine is Silent Hill 3. Its subject matter revolves around the fears of a teenage girl, like death of a parent, puberty, unwanted pregnancy (with a demon fetus, no less), mirrors (THAT ROOM shivers), and stalkers. The atmosphere is so oppressive and I cant play the game without having something else playing in the background, its...
Oh man, Silent Hill 2 and 3 are some of my favorite games, the atmosphere is just perfect. I started playing Resident Evil 7 in VR and the part at the very beginning where you go down into the basement and I just noped out and haven't tried it since. Will probably give it another go eventually...
Probably an unpopular opinion but I'd rather defederation be left to the users. I don't want to see content from Meta, but I want the ability to make that decision myself.
I currently use a Droplet from DigitalOcean which gives me 1 gb of RAM, 25 gb of storage and a bandwidth limit of 1 TB which is priced at 6 dollars per month, I think this might be a good offer, but I also think I’m overpaying because the only thing that I use from that is Wireguard to get around CGNAT at my home (which I...
ISIS probably isn't the best example, because promoting terrorism and advocating violence isn't protected free speech. Regardless, I don't think this would apply to a politician making a general statement like this, but government agencies working behind closed doors to suppress legal content.
Title is a bit disingenuous, the ruling actually says they are prohibited
from even talking to social media companies with “the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech.”
Government should not be cohering social media companies to silence speech, this seems fine to me.
