Your parents almost certainly voted to restrict the supply of housing so they could artificially inflate their houses value and retire off of their house.
The causes of the housing shortage are known. We can change it.
I also am concerned about investing heavily in areas that vote for fascists and authoritarians.
I think it will put Trump and future Republican candidates in a bit of a pickle. Is the SC Solar factory good or bad? What will their administration do?
In the past republicans would definietly have been very opposed but now... who knows.

"Another reason is the observation I always have when I visit the US of how big American cars are. Even in the cities, you don't tend to see many of the B-segment cars (Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, Skoda Fabia, Seat Ibiza, Peugeot 208, Toyota Yaris, Mazda2, Mini, etc) that you tend to find dominating in European cities. When I asked about this on Reddit previously, I was told this segment largely doesn't exist in the US and there's not enough demand for it to be worth selling them."
Almost every American city forces developers to provide certain number of parking spots when building. Almost every city/state uses the Ford F150 pickup truck to determine the required size of these lots. Ford actually does a lot of effort to make sure their F150 is the one chosen for this measurement.
American society and economy simply is built around subsidizing truck ownership at every opportunity.
I cant read the full article, but can probably guess the point. I personally refuse to let MAGA nutjobs be "patriots". Even if center/left wing people might initially think I'm weird for being patriotic.
