Two apps mlem and memmy, they're about equally old.

HawkMan,

Tildes and bluesky are missing the boat by being invite only at this time. They could have had the migration by being better developed alternatives. Instead they're losing everything to lemmy and kbin.

Yeah, I understand they would struggle to scale this suddenly for the influx. Like lemmy and kbin did, but the alternative is that they're now forgotten and missed the boat.

HawkMan,

I don't know that sub specifically. But a lot of they man help a type subs aren't so much about men helping men as much as they are about men who have no ability to reflect on themselves complaining to each other how others, usually women or LGBTQ are the cause for their minability to take responsibility for their own actions.

HawkMan,

No. None of the above.

I even said I didn't know that sub specifically. But that's an issue with a lot of the man type spaces.

That and people irrationally feeling attacked for no reason whatsoever.

HawkMan,

if only people had devices letting them tune into millions of "radio" channels anywhere that can be used through carplay or Android auto anywhere in the world with crystal clear audio...

The US is the only place that still even offers AM much less use the ancient crap.

HawkMan,

forums is all around an infinitely better solution for support and discussions on specific tech and interest. It's also more searchable and less ephemeral. At least reddit and fediverse is better then ephemeral solutions like discord.

HawkMan,

problem is you gave them what is valuable. Your IP that they can sell to LLM/AI training.

HawkMan,

as fun as all this is, it's counterproductive.

Right now it's only giving spez a lot of extra traffic from people wanting to be creative and people wanting to see the shit storm. If people keep enjoying literal subs with shit posts, he doesn't care as long as he gets traffic and users before the IPO

HawkMan,

you only need to move the more techie knowledgeable user base here. The ones that mod and post content.

The average user provides nothing to the site but dead traffic. They'll come when the content is here.

HawkMan,

lurkers follow the content.

HawkMan,

They're de-facto making mods employees by demanding how they moderate their communities and taking ownership of the users and communities

HawkMan,

the moment reddit starting threatening to fire them and take over THEIR communities, ut became a job.

HawkMan,

When reddit threatened to fire them and take over THEIR communities, it became a job and they became liable and employer

HawkMan,

How many are active users and not alts?

HawkMan,

if you can't act maturely i hear this guy Spez has an online community for you.

HawkMan,

he was knowingly participating greatly in the sub though.

HawkMan,

eh... Happy wasn't the reaction I would describe about spez at the time... But...

HawkMan,

and steam

And windows isn't a platform that benefits them in that way anyway.

Sony still does not
