A recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals that across all political and social groups in the United States, there is a strong preference against living near AR-15 rifle owners and neighbors who store guns outside of locked safes. This surprising consensus suggests that when it comes...
The R-73 is pretty comparable to the AIM-9X in capabilities as it has some flare resistance, is short range, and can do off-bore shots. Though, the off bore shots require a targeting head on the boat itself, which it probably doesn’t have, they almost certainly are using the missile seeker itself as the targeting system as it is MUCH easier to implement. Meaning they likely need to point the missile roughly at the target.
This system would be most useful for taking out the choppers attacking the other suicide boats as well as sniping planes taking off/landing on coastal airstrips.
Here is my process for new cards: Pick a pricepoint, head over to Video Card Benchmark and scroll down until you find the first (ie fastest) video card that meets that price point. Also double check prices at PC Part Picker. For used cards, the chart is still pretty useful, just a bit more manual (and money saving!) to get used prices from eBay/Mercari.
I personally have an AMD bias though, since they have pulled way less shit than nVidia. But, that is your decision to make.
Seen a lot of posts on Lemmy with vegan-adjacent sentiments but the comments are typically very critical of vegan ideas, even when they don’t come from vegans themselves. Why is this topic in particular so polarising on the internet? Especially since unlike politics for example, it seems like people don’t really get upset by...
Considering even a basic caesar salad (cheese) and Jell-O (gelatin) are not vegan, providing vegan options at an event really isn’t particularly easy. Most events will have vegetarian options without even thinking about it. However, vegan options require very explicitly thinking about what is offered. Meanwhile, group event planning is already quite a bit of work even before considering such heavy restrictions.
But their deaths won’t bring us any closer to Putin not invading Ukraine.
The only way for Ukraine to win this war is to destroy Russia’s ability to wage it. This means destroying Russia’s troops, destroying Russia’s vehicles, destroying Russia’s factories, and destroying Russia’s oil and refinery production.
Destroying the invader demonstrably brings Ukraine closer to ending Putin’s invasion.
As you note, Afghanistan beat the Soviet Union, there is no reason to believe Ukraine cannot beat Russia. It is also unlikely to take 20 years given how deeply Russia is expending their Soviet inheritance. We are actively watching Russia drain this one-time resource as their storage yards deplete every month. We have watched the Black Sea Fleet sink and the remnants relegated to the furthest coasts of Russia while Ukrainian grain shipments have recovered. This war is winnable, and Ukraine intends to do just that.
Begin negotiations for a permanent peace settlement.
Ukraine is willing to end the war today, unfortunately Russia actively rejects returning Ukrainian lands. Until Russia is prepared to accept peace, the only path forward is to destroy Russia’s ability to wage war.
Ukrainians had that chance in 2022 and they choose counteroffensive. It failed and they lost territory.
??? In 2022, Ukraine pushed the invader away from Kiev, out of Kharkiv, and out of Kherson. Ukraine holds significantly more of their own land today than they did before their counteroffensives in 2022. The entirety of the green shaded area is land Russia once occupied that Ukraine liberated.

Mobile homes are very, very rarely in cities where land values are higher than the home values. If that is the case, it is an even crazier idea to own a mobile home on extremely expensive rented land.
In addition to them still trying to one-up nVidia on who can cost the most, a bunch of people bought GPUs during covid. Vast majority of people aren’t due for an upgrade yet. I have a 6800 XT and haven’t glanced at a new GPU yet. No real point yet.
Jesus Christ, the video, the bodies, just keep coming.
Things like this are going to continue to have larger and larger effects on the front line. Russia has already shown several symptoms of atrocious morale (including a coup attempt).
Gallup is one of the most reliable polling institutions in the US. Biden really has actually managed to beat out the previously most unpopular president at this point, GHW Bush.
You are free to post quality content, too. Gallup is one of the best polling institutions in the country, it’s pretty hard to post better quality polls.
And Iran fosters and arms the groups attacking Israel from the north and south. This shit has been a back and forth for decades. I have no love lost for either side.
Yep. Passcode unlocks are legally protected, unlike fingerprint unlocks. If you have any desire to keep the police out of your phone, you should not have fingerprint unlock enabled.
