I just finished tearing out the carpet and modernizing the stairs. I used a Poly stain, but should I also go with another coat of just Poly? Added a before and after (still need to do some minor touch ups from painters tape)
I am hosting a give away today on my island. It has been raining on and off all day, feel free to stick around to fish. Currently turnips are selling for 141 per turnip....
As some subreddits continue blackouts to protest Reddit's plans to charge high prices for its API, Reddit has informed the moderators of those subreddits that it has plans to replace resistant moderation teams to keep spaces "open and accessible to users."
I would think (hope) that any of the good, decent moderators have already begun the migration over and the replacements are just going to be awful. Many moderators of the big subs have been doing it for some time. Thats a lot of brain drain. I wouldn't want to invest in a company that wants those in supervisory roles to be bodies rather than quality contributors.
I believe it. That was my first thought when I heard the news. My instantpot is going amazing after 2 years of constant use. I have the air fryer duo model. I have heard the complaints about Pyrex though...glad I have old pieces in my collection. They're not super expensive compared to how many things they can do and replace, so I have a hard time seeing where they get the money from. Now I know, they weren't.
Yeah, its a shame that it's the way the world goes. Kitchenaid does it well, they have their big ticket mixers and stands and then all the little knick knack crap you need on the side. Alfhough, I have heard the stand mixers are also falling prey to the modern issues of one time use items.
My mother passed in 2004 from cancer and I recently found some old recipes that were passed down to her from our Volga German ancestors who came to America in the late 1800s. I am unsure where this originated from, but it was one of her most loved cakes. I hope to spread her love and warmth to the world. Here is the transcript of the photo:
Vinegar Cake
3/4 cup oil
2 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp vanilla
2 cups water
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
6 tbsp cocoa
Mix all together
13x9 - spray/flour
Bake @350 for 35 min
Frosting
1 stick butter
4 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp milk
1 24oz box of powdered sugar
Bring to a boil butter, cocoa, and milk
Mix with powdered sugar
Thanks Scotty, it took nearly 20 years of searching to find her recipes, and unfortunately many have been lost. I cherish the few that I have. I will be working on transcribing her Bierocks shortly to post here. Enjoy and feel free to share if you like it!

I bought almost 10,000 turnips this go around. I got a pretty decent price at 92 bells per turnip, so I am hoping to swing a decent profit this week to fund some bridge and incline construction.
Add another layer of just Poly after using Poly stain?

Strawberries were ready to be picked today. Broccoli just started sprouting its crown. Lesson learned, they smell the berries.
