I have a Vendomatic sewing machine form the late '70s or early '80s. Still works like a charm. I still use it a couple of times per year to make/fix clothes or sew badges on my heavy metal jacket
I would like to put my hat in the ring for Aliens: Fireteam Elite. It was recently free on Playstation Plus but I missed it by a single day. My wife has taken over the Playstation so I've been gaming on my laptop, and I forgot to keep up with the monthly games. I'd love to play it though!
I would really rather that these were actual examples, and not conspiracy theories. We all have our own unsubstantiated ideas about what shadowy no-gooders are doing, but I’d rather hear about things that are actually happening.
Eh, not legally. It's illegal but condoned (up to 5 gram, for personal use only). Meaning they won't arrest or prosecute you for it, but technically you are still beaking the law. I guess in theory some DA could add it along with other charges. But since we don't have a US-style kangaroo court system, this never happens.
A lot of DA's in the US trump up charges and add anything they can think of, often in order to scare the defendant into settling out of court. I believe some 97% of cases in the US are settled out of court. That doesn't happen over here.
Hey guys, I’m just an ordinary dev looking for something to work on. While messing around with my hobby projects, I couldn’t help but notice that under the surface, there are a lot of places that the libre desktop can be improved. I’d like to take on your suggestions on what I should seriously consider working on and...
Multiple workspaces per monitor, like OSX has. Currently it's multiple monitors per workspace. So, switching workspaces switches all monitors instead of just the active one. Both Gnome and KDE get this wrong. Only esoteric WMs like i3 and awesome get it right, but they are not suitable for most people.
I have far too many windows open to display everything at once, even with my 3 widescreen monitors (the curse of being a developer). I usually need about 4-5 workspaces to organise everything. Sometimes more. Often there are also multiple windows arranged on a single screen (I use tiling, so windows never overlap). I know by heart which application is on what workspace and screen (because it's always the same). Because each workspace has a hotkey (Win + a numbered key) I can instantly pull up any window that I need, without searching for it.
I'd say that's still unhealthy because it helps perpetuate the myth that less sleep is a thing to admire. Maybe instead we should start bragging about how much sleep we are getting. As a dad of an 18 month old, I already regularly brag about that to my coworkers who also have little kids.
You jest, but a large swath of right-wing evangelicals are actively trying to bring about the end times. My pet theory is that they are terrified of dying. So, if they bring about the end times, then Jesus will come back and rapture them. That way they get into heaven without having to die a nasty death first.
I don't understand there are still games out there that do not offer inverted Y as an option. I couldn't finish the Lego Marvel Superheroes game because of that.
Yes. This post apocalyptic wasteland in the far future is littered with cans of Monster Energy drink which act as healing potions. So it's not like you can avoid them either.
They have, but it's still nothing compared to the US. I drive a Nissan Qashqai. It's quite a big car in The Netherlands. There are bigger of course (like the big Volvo XC 70 and 90) but I'm definitely on the bigher size on the road. But my car would be tiny in the US. It would be like driving an old Fiat 500 over here.

"If you tell a lie big enough and tell it frequently enough, people will eventually come to believe it". What is an example of this happening today?
