Great video, a lot of the benchmark stuff I was unaware of because I don't pay THAT much attention to the wider youtube review community, but I Did notice that waterblock review when it went up on LTT. Go and watch it, it's honestly embarrassing how unprepared and silly it was. As a comedy sketch it's fine, but as a review of a prototype it's really really embarrassingly under prepared. It brings to mind something like an Asmondgold hardware review... "I don't know, let's just try this".
To see they auctioned off a prototype device after that "review" is kinda disgusting (sorry for the hard word, but it's how I feel).
I wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that most "Big" news sites are paywalled nowadays. Hard to read a WaPo article if you, well, can't read it. We're pretty much forced to other 3rd party social media sites to get news beyond headlines.
I have been joking to a couple of friends today who were also redditors that I've been feeling withdrawals from reddit throughout the day. Like I knew I was addicted, I just never thought I was going to have to face the consequences of withdrawals!...
Although my first anime was back during early childhood (back when anime programme block was a regular thing in Indonesian television). Vulcan just really started following anime seriously during junior high school back in 2012 (classmates are into Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online during that time, and we often chatted about...
I think the biggest thing we need to figure out is how to make it sound easier than people say it is. People get too hung up on the technicalities of how the fediverse works, and they never try it out and see that it isn't as confusing as it sounds. If we could write up a simple blurb to help promote kbin to subreddit moderators...
I wanted to post this here since I want to help as much as I can in my own way to people coming here for the first time. I hope it is useful and helpful! I tried to assume low knowledge with the Fediverse in my responses which I collected here from a different post and assembled into a single article....
Amazing Faq, thanks for this! The posts/microblog thing was a little confusing to me, as was the 'boost' option so I'm so glad to see it laid out like this. Kudos to you kind stranger!
I think this is correct. I went to lemmy.world and searched for !imthemaincharacter and it pointed right to the OP's community. You should be able to do the same here on kbin but nothing happens, with or without the leading exclamation mark.
I'm currently running 'Nuke Reddit History' in another tab right now on my account too. You nailed it, the people who will be angry about 3pa's and /spez are the ones who use the site a lot, not the casual users who browse and reply. I guarantee that /r/all will suffer in quality post-30th.

How can we smooth out the migration and help promote kbin/lemmy to subreddits and redditors?

Think this case in particular is pretty interesting. Former default subreddit and one of the largest on the site (Top 20 at least)....
