Edited below. I imagine many of us are here from reddit, where hashtags weren't really a thing and in many places mentions were actively discouraged (/r/politics I'm looking at you). However, since everything we post or comment on kbin (and lemmy) has the potential of getting federated on a mastodon server, which leans heavily...
So how do you know what the hashtag people use is? Like how do you know it's # with totk, tearsofthekingdom, ZeldaTotk, TotKcontraption, TotKvehicle, TotKvehicles, TotK_vehicle or something else? Or what new hashtags are there?
And for cucumbers maybe eating just the outer part rather than the mushy inside might help (as part of a dish rather than by itself of course). Cutting them into tiny pieces might also help. That said, almost my entire family hate cucumbers, and I haven't been too successful at convincing them.
Fact is, the Lemmy ecosystem needs money to handle the growing server reqirements as more people migrate as well as the development cost of new features (I know Lemmy is OSS but the devs should still get some compensation for their effort)....

if you read a copyrighted material without paying and then forgot most of it a month later with vague recollection of what you've read the fact is you still accessed and used the copyrighted material without paying.
Now let's go a step further, you write something that is inspired by that copyrighted material and what you wrote become successful to some degree with eyes on it, but you refuse to admit that's where you got the idea from because you only have a vague recollection. The fact is you got the idea from the copyrighted material.
When I was in elementary school, the cafeteria switched to disposable plastic trays because the paper ones hurt trees. Stupid, I know… but are today’s initiatives any better?
That's not really what OP is saying though? They're talking about corporate efforts to make it seems like the consumers are the problem, not them, and many are still falling for it. As long as the awareness of this is not raised and more people aren't pointing fingers at the corporates the whole don't buy their product is never going to be effective, same for advocating for regulations (rather, especially the regulations). You're assuming everyone knows the root of the problem already, but that's just not the case here.
My interpretation of "today's initiatives" is they are something already on-going rather than started today, and nuclear fusion isn't really one of them. So, I don't think you guys are on a different page here?
You can't convince anyone by generalising other cultures either. To start with, it's Christianity that started the whole bigotry deal in some places. There are also places which provide better rights than the US. To say that the rest of the world will never care about trans right as if none are already caring right now is ignorant and pretty insulting, much more than someone calling out specific person for their behaviour.
And because WhatsApp isn't popular throughout since there are also regions that almost exclusively use LINE or very heavily adopted Telegram. Not everyone uses Instagram but it's a popular choice for the kind of service it offers all over the world.
They are fucking clumps of cells and fetuses, not babies. The to-be-mother is a fucking adult human (and only a child in some cases) with fully grown nerves cells and developed emotions.

Or worst, if they don't like being pet or cuddled.
Should we be using hashtags and mentions more?
