Similar shares say they “move their mouse” to show they’re still active on their company’s messaging platforms (like Slack or Microsoft Teams) when they’re not really working, and they’ve scheduled a message to send outside of regular hours to give the impression they’re working overtime.
I thought that was just using technology appropriately. If I have Slack on my phone they can get in touch with me pretty much anywhere, so why not use it? Hell, scheduling emails to go out in the morning so they're at the top of a recipient's inbox is a recommended sales tactic.
When people feel the need to sneak out for breaks, it’s a sign that their workplace doesn’t have a supportive PTO system or culture in place, Rodney says.
Or maybe the notion of people working constantly for eight straight hours and then stopping at the end of the day is dated and inaccurate. I've never been in a job where I didn't take some breaks, even if it was a couple minutes sitting on bags of frozen food in the back of a restaurant.

Also, do not ever try to experiment with it and make a savory salmon and dill cheesecake. Yes, it's the perfect appetizer for a garden party but my god you will not be able to stop.
