Is it just me or does the Lemmy community actively ignoring the existence of kbin? I see a lot of posts explicitly mentioning Lemmy users but only posts from kbinners mention both platforms.

Yeah Reddit dying would be a very bad thing. I do not like the actions of its CEO but the content is extremely helpful. There is so much knowledge archived on Reddit.
And about the API Pricing I'd argue it would be very similar to YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Netflix, ...
If a user pays monthly for premium, the company will get more money than it would get from that user relying on ads. And running an API costs you nothing extra since you need one anyway, when you want to have any App or website that is written somewhat well.

Looking for a Mastodon client primarily for iOS, great to see the main app is open-source, but there seems to be quite a few options out there. Feel free to share non-iOS clients for others' benefit as well....
Well design wise I prefer Manny and Ivory, but they are proprietary and lack Details you only get with Mona or Ice Cubes. So I'm sticking with Ice Cubes, those extras have a bigger worth to me than a super good UI
Hey, I just wanted to say I really like the icon of /kbin and I really special that the dev has done so far. I really hope /kbin keeps evolving because it's the only thing I've seen in the last 11 years that could replace Reddit for me.
But no worry, it will be replaced with an in-line solution with iOS 17. I never integrated it myself though because my Shortcuts usually are super specific and rather simple.
Are there any active #swift#swiftlang communities here yet? Maybe I suck at searching but so far I had no luck. On Mastodon there is a huge amount of active Swift devs I could find easily.
