So the reveal party was like this. 5 of us (really 6, one person was also holding a 5-month-old) stood behind my son and daughter-in-law. We opened the envelope and then held up signs that signified what the gender was (they were two sided signs). A photographer took pictures and then snapped a picture with a Polaroid camera and handed them the picture. We then put the signs down while they waited for the picture to develop so we could watch then find out. What an awesome reveal method!
So it’s a girl and will be named Evelyn, named after the character from The Mummy, and they will be calling their daughter Evey (I’ve decided she’s actually named after Evey from V for Vendetta). FYI had it been a boy it would have been named Loki.
Either way I’d be happy, but I’d say I am quite pleased as this will be my first granddaughter as her cousins are all boys.
@simplenomad That's such a cool reveal! And congratulations on getting a girl in the family! Evey is a great name and V for Vendetta was an excellent movie.
My youngest has turned into a #horse girl. This is way outside my frame of reference as I’m not a fan of horses and had no exposure to them growing up. But it makes her #happy so I endure. (Still can’t) ALT teenage age girl and a horse
@ceamba That's great! My 13 year old does riding lessons out here about once every two weeks and she really enjoys it. Unfortunately, she is allergic either to horses, or something else out there, and comes home absolutely wrecked every time. Still keeps going though.

I'm 35, but I had a junior SA approach me looking for tasks (though he is not even on my team) and I had nothing for him. So he asked if I had any advice for a 23 year old and all I could think to tell him was "Floss every day"....
There's like an urge in my body to squeeze it from the bottom that feels efficient and tidy and it messes my mind up when I use a toothpaste that somebody has squeezed right in the middle. I wanna know people's stance on this, so what kinda squeezer are you?
I do it the right way. Push from the seal towards the opening until there are only like two brush-worths left, then I fold the sides by the opening to get those last drops.
Similar to last week. I was feeling much more stiff and a bit more tired than last squat session, so I stayed back from 85% 1rm. I threw on knee sleeves for the high end set. That helped let me get loosened up and a bit more confident mentally for the rest of the workout.
I imagine reddit won't fall. But honestly, Kbin reminds me of the early days of reddit. I stopped posting all together years ago because the reddit climate just changed so much. I hope Kbin does well. I requested a reg code for Tildes too, but I don't think it has the right environment.
Yeah never underestimate a good night's sleep. Good luck with it all. My brother just self published his first novel after mildly pursuing a writing career for years. It's been on amazon now for a month or so and is already gaining quite a bit of traction.
Don't ever give up on it
Good luck! What are you looking to do in IT? I'm currently working enterprise infrastructure which is just fancy talk for I click on things in servers until the do what I want.
Hell yeah! Stick with it, it gets easier as it becomes more routine. And don't get disheartened if you slip, just keep on truckin.
One of the things that helped me in the past was telling myself that the junk foods will still be there when I reach my goals. I don't need to eat them now just because they are there.
I tried to learn python once. I followed the book and made a script that would tell you if the minute was odd or even. "This minute seems a little odd". It was fun, but way beyond my ADHD brain's focus constraints.
I do IT for a living and I know that's where all the money is, but I would never be successful. Hope it works out for you!
You'll have to forgive a lot of my ignorance around this topic, but I hope it all goes well for you and you find your happiness at the end of that road.
I think and ideal world would be like a video game character creation menu that you could just access and make changes at will. But I guess that would also take the fun out of the randomness of life. Good luck on your journey!
I'm almost 36 and finally got tired of waiting to start, so I am starting a masters program in cyber security hopefully in October. Currently still a high school drop out.
You are a braver person than I am. For being such an invaluable career, teachers do not make nearly enough. Props for moving back into education though.
Me? Man, you are the first one to ask me that. I got a promotion at work that came with a 20% raise, but it's going to take a while before I see it. I recently consolidated all of my debt and will be completely debt free in three years or earlier. But I guess most of all, I am going to be ordering some more sunglasses soon and I'm pretty stoked to try them out. It's the little things, you know?

What kind of toothpaste squeezer are you?
