I'm a newbie to Lemmy, so apologies if this is a known issue of I am doing something wrong. But I find that when I browse by "Posts -> All", my feed just kinda... jumps around all over the place....
It happens to me too. It happens on almost every feed... new posts get sent there as soon as they're posted, making everything jump around. Doesn't matter if you're in new, hot, active, whatever. It's really aggrivating.
The creators of SponsorBlock did it again, now we can crowdsource better titles and thumbnails as well. I just tried it with LinusTechTips who is a worst offender when it comes to clickbait and its really great....
It's obvious that Reddit as a company has no respect for its users and less than that for the mods. It's a thankless, difficult job that isn't even a paid position. I think a lot of us have probably quit real jobs for less bs than Reddit has pulled....
As a (soon to be) former reddit mod, reddit moderators are all power hungry. Modding and feeling like they're important is a coping mechanism for many of their lives.
Okay, voxel games were cute, everyone loved Minecraft. But that doesn't mean that voxels are the solution to everything! I really am sick of getting excited at a new game on one of the major services (Steam, Epic, etc) only to have the phrase "voxel graphics" tacked onto the end....
Couldn't agree more. Voxels are an art style that works some of the time, but using it because a developer is too lazy to make their own graphics is a copout.
Interested in getting a feel for what people may be likely to do IF reddit reverses their decision regarding API access, or reduces access fees to a reasonable level and 3rd party apps remain sustainable....
I didn't leave reddit because of the API changes. I left reddit because they're treating their userbase and their volunteer moderators that keep the community clean to their standards for them like absolute shit
I, much like basically everyone here, have been avoiding Reddit when possible, and the content here just doesn't hit the same. My fried dopamine receptors were certainly screaming for stimulation early on but now I feel an urge to touch grass and breathe fresh air. What is this? Am I dying? I still hate the angry lightbulb in...
I'm not going to lie, I don't really use any 3rd party reddit app, and I like the official app and all that, but I've made the switch because I'm not going to support the CEO of the company doing the same thing that reddit mods get made fun of for. However, kbin is a bit more user unfriendly and it certainly is a learning curve. I haven't figured out how to see which magazines I'm subscribed to except for hunting them down from the list of mags. I haven't had any issues with the community yet, and I get how the federation works and all that, I just think kbin is missing some of the features that really made reddit a breeze.
Would anyone be willing to point me into the direction of some of the basics of setting up a kbin instance? I run a reddit community called Flairwars and I think having an instance on something like kbin would be a very good replacement solution.
I personally enjoy taking long walks. It doesn't matter if it's in the woods, on a bike trail, or just through town. There's something nice about just meandering and being alone with your thoughts while still being immersed in the outside world.
"Posts -> All" view kinda jumping around like crazy?

Real question: Why don't the mods just all quit?

OC Voxel Games Need to be Done

OC Here's my final idea for a Kbin mascot, I call it the "Kbird" (K = Kakatuá), since someone shared a Fediverse flag resembling a pirate flag I thought a bird mascot would fit.
