It's a little daunting to me that in some cases there are 2 or more communities between the federated alternatives; what's the best way to corral these? I had thought I could perhaps subscribe to Lemmy instances on kbin; is that correct? If so, how? Thank you in advance....
Point being, all of us that are here are the ones cool enough to come here. We are unified by the desire for a better social media that is not-for-profit and user driven. And that makes this community unique compared to the scabs advocating for Reddit. The people who will belong here will come here. :)
I never thought I could continue to enjoy reddit after what they did to Christian Selig and the other 3PA developers, but all this malicious compliance is delicious!
Hopefully people will search and find us here. I read the Maryland subreddit everyday when I was on Reddit and enjoyed it as I'm sure you all did / do.

Trump isn’t the GOP’s biggest problem. Abortion is. (www.washingtonpost.com)
Ok, as a user on lemmy.ml, I'm pretty sure none, or close to, of my posts and comments are being federated.
I've been monitoring, checking whether my posts or comments appear on external instances, including mastodon, and it doesn't seem to be happening....
[rant] Why is this so hard for people?
Can I just rant a little to you all?...
What is the best way to make sense of the alternative federated communities?

Worth reading the whole article, as these events will become more and more frequent....
OC Last Week in Collapse: May 21-27, 2023 (open.substack.com)
Microplastics, climate denial, contagious skin fungus, warlords, record temperatures, and wheat troubles. This is starting to get serious.
Update from Lemmy after the Reddit blackout (join-lemmy.org)
The Steam subreddit has been forced back open.
Looks like Reddit is forcing another sub open, but there are users advocating changing the sub to be about actual steam.
I miss Reddit's size
I know Kbin will grow in time but I miss how huge Reddit was.
Hi fellow Marylanders! Looking forward to seeing the group grow!
