Remember the time Sony Music installed a rootkit on peoples' computers via commercially purchased CDs because hacking paying customers' computers seemed like a good way to combat piracy?
Swift’s life had been orchestrated as part of a sinister plot to encourage her fans to vote.
Reminds me of the time Republicans in some local election had sent out a mailer smearing the Dem candidate. There was a big box on one part of the card, in a large font against a dark background proclaiming that the Dem candidate wanted to "Educate and Transform you!"
Well, I thought, do your donors know you are campaigning for the Democrat?
Downpunxx will be here any minute to let us know that the Hamas was stockpiling weapons under the UN headquarters, using them as human shields, and the UN workers in that building were complicit and happy to let them do so.
Is this the part where we point out (again) that anyone else would be waiting for all this to play out from a jail cell, or at least house arrest, by this point?
So left-leaning voters can’t ask for more? It’s by design. At some point the table must be overturned.
The thing to ask for is ranked choice voting.
Why not now?
You answered your own question already:
If he does get on the ballot as a spoiler, I won’t vote for him.
You said it yourself. In the current scenario this version of asking for more only makes the road easier for R.
Look what happened to Bernie.
I registered Democrat after decades of being registered Independent specifically to vote for Bernie in the primaries. I feel he was shafted by the DNC both times, just ever so slightly more subtly the second time.
But I can’t fault those who do.
Nor will I, but if your left leaning values cause you to cast a vote that's only handing power to folks far, far to the right of Biden/Harris based on Biden/Harris not being left enough for you, don't ask me to pretend that's not exceptionally self defeating.
The capability to defederate is half the point of the fediverse. So a spez or a musk or a zuckerberg can't make things shitty for everyone.
You can run your own instance and federate with everything, or you can join an instance that does the same. No one is stopping you; that's what freeedom looks like.
The rest of your comment reads like this: I can't follow the conversation, which is about an instance I'm not a member of defederating from another instance I'm not a member of, as a result of some hateful comments about a group I'm not a member of. So I'm just going to disagree on principle even though the defederation won't impact my instance or me personally in any way.
Our legal system has historically been often leveraged disproportionately against black folks. That may or may not be the case here, but perhaps the author thinks so.
