The Apple Vision Pro is supposed to be the start of a new spatial computing revolution. After several days of testing, it’s clear that it’s the best headset ever made — which is the problem.
I think the biggest difference compared to all previous endeavors is that VR/AR devices are still this thing that collects dust in the corner even among the biggest enthusiasts.
Most people had some form of portable music player (like Walkman) long before iPod was a thing.
Every household had been equipped with phones long before Apple made iPhone. Cellphones were also a huge deal before iPhone.
Watches are old as time (pun intended). Fitness trackers was also a big thing before Apple Watch.
VR/AR? Most people don’t really care - despite multiple efforts from all the biggest tech companies. Is a more premium Oculus from Apple the solution? I guess time will tell, but I have doubts.
I guess it requires some getting used to. With traditional mouse input it’s possible to look at a button, move the mouse there, then look away in anticipation for something else, and then make the click.
For example: the play button in video players. Many probably focus their eyes on the video before clicking the play button.
How fast could the average person whose in peak physical shape run on the moon, without the limits of current technology? I mean suit, but like a wetsuit with only a small helmet, and athletic shoes.
After getting disappointing sales figures they will probably conclude it’s all because console gaming is dead and that they should instead focus on making mobile live service games where the real money is.
It’s making fun of people patting themselves on the back over how good allies they are for doing things no one ever asked for and isn’t helping anybody.
Like how white people informed others to use the made up gender neutral word Latinx instead of Latino/Latina, when no Hispanic has even asked for it or even want it.

If she had stuck to making videos about physics most of us would probably be fine with her. Once she started to cover loaded topics like trans women in sports the reputation of her went down the drain. This tainted our trust towards all her other videos.
I haven’t really seen any sport that has been clearly dominated by trans women. Feels like a non-issue to me.
If it ever becomes an issue where trans women has such unfair advantage biological women has no longer chance of winning, then maybe a separate category is needed.

Sure, anyone can pick up a new language or two over a weekend. That doesn’t mean they are confident enough to contribute to large scale programs with it. That takes much longer to learn.

How do you deal with the thought of having to work for 40+ years and then when/if you retire, you're too old to do much?
There has to be a better system than this.
How fast can you theoretically run on the moon?
