TLDR: Some parts very well engineered, some parts over-engineered, pretty good hardware, but in typical Apple fashion, they focus too much on aesthetics and not enough on user experience.

It’s a good first step, but it’s certainly not the ultimate AR experience Apple touts it as. And it’s WAY overpriced.

TheRealCharlesEames,

Surprised to hear that he had issues with the look and point input method.

magic_lobster_party,

I guess it requires some getting used to. With traditional mouse input it’s possible to look at a button, move the mouse there, then look away in anticipation for something else, and then make the click.

For example: the play button in video players. Many probably focus their eyes on the video before clicking the play button.

Petter1,

I think it is a skill issue, to be honest, especially after hearing what marquess said about the eye tracking. Apparently, it is more easy and fast to write on the digital keyboard using eye tracking than trying to punch the keys using your fingers. I’ll see as soon as the demo units arrive here in eu as well.

I think they’re talking about like how you shouldn’t be focusing on the scrollbar when you’re scrolling
