I think you've hit the nail on the head here. I think a lot of people haven't got back into going to the cinema since COVID which adds to the problem of not having the energy to see everything. My inertia for getting out to the cinema is much worse than it used to be, which seems to be the same with my social group. Collectively that makes it much more likely that as a group someone will be the voice of "anyone fancy a cinema trip".
I've been using emacs since 2010. I use doom emacs now, but I have written my own overcomplicated config at one point in the past. I've grown used to it, but sometimes when emacs chokes on some input due to its single threaded nature I have time to wonder if there's something better for me out there....
It might just be because its a terrible title. Not your fault as its the title direct from YouTube. But its a click-bait title and factually incorrect. Well, I say that not having watched the video, but I'll be gobsmacked if there are actually children writing stuff.
A lot of us are pretty new to the fediverse and we've arrived just in time to grapple with what is easily the biggest federation/defederation controversy ever to hit it. I've put this thread together to hopefully help communicate some of the more complex ideas that we're trying to get our heads around....
Will blocking Theads on the fediverse prevent following individual accounts from there? If so that feels like a massive problem. I can understand wanting to ensure Threads doesn't start feeding ads and propaganda into the general fediverse streams and that would warrant a strike, but not being able to follow individuals feels like breaking the whole idea of fediverse.
I agree about Killjoys and Dark Matter. Though it is quite galling that the one that went in with a full 5-season story arc panned out was the one that got cancelled.
Idk what the culture is over there but it was just a bit funny to see the entire thread I was replying to just removed. Like that doesn't happen here on kbin lmao. a bit of a culture clash there I guess....
Its also a heavily derogative word. In industry strikes 'scabs' are often ostracized by the community. Even after the strike ends. People have long memories.

Now that federation is starting to work, the experience is a bit funny. Already had experiences with lemmy and beehaw threads just being purged lol
