Hello, is this magazine for more or less newbies too? I've never used reddit, so I don't know what rules your subreddit had.
I used to go to power pump classes, then exercised with a trainer, now I made my own basic workout routine (strength training plus cardio). I'm a chicken lifter for now teheheh, but I'd like to have a community. it's better together and all that.
@reginasbread /r/fitness was generally geared towards beginners and /r/weightroom more intermediates and above, with stricter posting guidelines and the expectation that beginners do rudimentary research beforehand. That being said, /r/weightroom has always been supportive of novice lifters and was a valuable resource for anyone interested in getting bigger and stronger (after directing them to read the fitness wiki)
Also keep in mind before the blackout /r/programming posted that they were seeing tons of posts and comments by bots, and suggested there was an astroturfing campaign in full force. Wouldn't put it pass /u/spez
My EDC is a Buck Sprint Pro and it's getting difficult to open. The knife has a bearing at the pivot point, and dirt is getting in there. I want to clean it out and regrease it, but I really don't want to take it apart if possible. I will if I have to, but I've never disassembled a pocket knife before.
You can wash it with soap and water, opening and closing it repeatedly, then rinse well. If you have a compressor or air canister, blow out it out thoroughly, then put it in a sandwich bag and spray it with wd40 and let it sit in there for a while. Take it out and wipe it off a few times / blow it out, add a few drops of your preferred lube to the pivot and work it in a few times by opening and closing the knife and you should be good to go
I'm not sure if /r/weightroom has gone dark or not, but I thought some might be interested in a replacement here on kbin for their weightlifting training logs, program discussions, questions, etc
I have had a small knife in my pocket everyday for about 35 years but have maintained an incredibly picky attitude about my collection 😂, so my “knife per year” ratio is very low, but here are my current top 3 knives which end up in my pocket....
Twitter gets buggier: Followers don’t display, users restricted in error (arstechnica.com)
Twitter looking into a bug restricting some users from liking and retweeting.
OC Replacing the entire moderation team of 5000+ subs is not a practical solution and Reddit admins know it

Fitness Wiki
With /r/fitness, /r/weightroom, /r/gainit and others offline we have lost access to a lot of helpful information and also our online hangouts....
It looks like a lot of people think the blackout is pointless and support Reddit's choice (www.reddit.com)

Can I clean the gunk out of the bearing without disassembling?

A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse?
I haven't used Reddit at all since the blackout began. Even if they change course, the Fediverse is growing on me, and I think I'll stay here....
Reddit CEO tells employees that subreddit blackout ‘will pass’ (www.theverge.com)
Spez, and Reddit as a whole is basically counting on most subreddits opening back up tomorrow after the 48-hour period....
The Migration seems to be going well! 125k on kbin.social instance alone, and over 100k across Lemmy!

OC I love the chaos at the moment
I'm feeling a real positive energy and community spirit as a result of the sudden fragmentation of reddit's foundational use base....
