I gave an rpi 4b, I started looking into self hosting my own instance as well.

If youre trying to share music or any recorded content: I recommend making a Funkwhale instance. I set up my own Funkwhale instance recently. I've mostly been testing it, so I haven't used it officially.

@knowprose i don't have a static IP address, but mine changes only every few years. I will write a cron job to check it every 15 minutes or so.. and if it does change, send me text..

@sergio_101 you could probably have the same cron job update the dns server automatically. It could message attempt, confirmation/failure.
