@shwnwllms haha Pyre Press — https://www.pyrepress.com/. I have way too many band shirts but if they sell something from a band I like or a band has them do a run I’ll always pick something up. 20 Buck Spin used them for all their bands.
'... as work done by my team of chemistry researchers suggests, up to 90% of tattoo inks in the U.S. might be mislabeled. This isn't just a case of a missing pigment or a minor discrepancy. These inks contained potentially concerning additives that weren't listed on the packaging.'
@cory@sixcolors I agree. I was shocked how well it could write. Thankfully It won’t fool anyone. My run on sentences and plenty of dangling prepositions prove I’m Human and can’t write.
@mrapplegate@sixcolors oh totally — it’s moving everything to a point of bland sameness and mediocrity. Copilot’s already placed downward pressure on code quality.
@gdp 😅 I'm up to 10 and have no regrets (I've got the Sick Sad World logo from Daria above my right knee). I love 'em! There are always cover ups for the indiscretions too — though you can only do so many of those, I overheard an artist trying to talk someone out of their 3rd pass on the same spot once. 🫣
Went through my stash of outdoor clothes today. Found my old Kaikkialla „long johns“ (more like a leggings).
I doubt they will keep my legs THAT warm if I can easily see my #tattoos through them 😏
@deadliftbear hard to separate but it hasn’t seemed to directly impact me.
The quality of my sleep has suffered, which makes me pretty useless for the first hour or two of the day (dizzy, foggy, low dexterity), but that is because of the position of parts of the tattoo and how I like to sleep.
I’ve had other tattoos since the diagnosis that haven’t had an issue at all.
It’s funny. Large scale damage to skin? Brain reacts sensibly. Small cold? Omg we’re in danger, zap everything!
There always seems to be a writer about who wants to talk down tattoos, I assume because they don't have any themselves. I doubt tattoos will notably decline in popularity, people always like having some means of self-expression.
What might change is what's depicted in tattoos. I often wondered about people getting those so-called tribal tattoos with the jagged lines, they must seem so out of fashion now.
Are tattoos about to become uncool? Soon many young people will know them as something their parents have
@timrichards this is why I only get tattoos of things I personally really like. Means it’s not relevant to me whether they’re fashionable. Currently planning my next one, just waiting on the artist to get back to me with a date.
@timrichards no doubt the popularity will ebb and flow but I’m doubtful it’s going away. There’s a LOT of studios, some of which don’t differentiate themselves by doing interesting work, so of course some will struggle.
With my artist at least it is somewhat easier to get an appointment now than 2 years ago. Possibly part of the slump now is that that for the first part of 2022 people were getting the ideas they had in lockdowns done and now demand is settling back to equilibrium
