Cash daddies at the Googs aren't gonna like this one bit

rantolo,

yeah! but I want to be able to install any local XPI.
I don't want to be restricted to install extension only available on AMO.
I don't like walled gardens.

igorlogius,

Good News everyone! … Wait isn’t the android version still missing some apis? …

bayjird,

I'm developing my first extension and this is super exciting. I wonder if we'll get support for the storage sync API to share data between desktop and Android.

ImaginaryFox,

Exciting news. There's a lot of extensions I miss on mobile.

This is great! Hope they bring it to iOS as well. This could really help to convince a lot of people to switch to Firefox.

Kaoxt,

It cannot come to iOS until Apple allows Gecko to come over. It may happen eventually if Apple ever loosens up more on what engine is allowed besides Safari.

I can't see it helping much unfortunately in bringing more over, since Firefox desktop isn't that big either.

Firefox on Android would be perfect for me, if I could ever figure out why Firefox randomly freezes using the Google search fixer addon from time to time, and if Firefox would ever get tablet support (tabs).

Ahh, thanks for the explanation!

redw0rm,

This solves one of the most requested ideas in mozilla connect. Yaay
