WTF is wrong with the people at #Mozilla? I don’t care how much they say they’ve anonymized the personal data #Firefox grabs - this just makes them look like every other privacy-invading enshittified company.
#PrivacyFirst
The funny part about the removal of networking from the default #keepassxc package on #debian, is that they did it for "security" reasons, without thinking that the MOST INSECURE way to transfer a #password to your #browser is via the CLIPBOARD. Absolutely every running app or service can read the clipboard! And yet, that's the default way they expect users to do it now!
Another one: What do people use for reading out loud articles? At best on #Android? I find that #Pocket has really robotic voice, #ReadAloud has terrible #UX and I just miss the way this works in #MSEdge.
@MichalBryxi Ngl, nowadays I just copy the link to #MicrosoftEdge and use that. Until #Firefox gets nicer voice options, it's always going to be the way.
Oh oh la nouvelle version de #Firefox apporte ça : «the zstd directive of the Content-Encoding HTTP header is now supported, allowing decoding of server-sent content encoded with the #Zstandard compression algorithm».
Sympa comme amélioration !
I'm having a hell of a day with Firefox today (and part of yesterday). Since 126.0 was released many websites make Firefox crash (for example opening images here in Mastodon but also a Grafana dashboard and others). All in Gnome with Wayland and Ubuntu 24.04. Are other people having the same issues? #Firefox#Ubuntu#Wayland#Gnome
Sheesh, Mozilla has really lost their way. Putting ads in the search bar? We already have a search engine that does that, we don't need two running at the same time.
@cuchaz
I mostly use #Brave now (with the shit turned off) because #Firefox was degrading in performance and stability, and became unusable on my cheap mobile. For now that's ok.
That #Mozilla are doing this is very sad. I am though hopeful better days are coming, with new ecosystems based on #p2p that will bypass the enclosure and unleash the next generation of openeness & creativity.
I'm literally working on a demo to publish and browse websites on #Autonomi, so it's not just work thinking.
@bitwarden Today I got this in #Firefox. According to this notification you are asking for "Access browser activity during navigation" permission which according to the Firefox documentation (link at the end of this toot) means either
Detect when streamed videos are about to play and provide a download feature
Look for and prevent ad pop-ups from opening
Is there any documentation on #Bitwarden that explains which one you need and why?

2nd: Is your computer/notebook and your printer etc. well supported by #Linux? Check the internet for it.
3rd: After switching: Look first for software in the distribution repositories and not on the websites of the projects. Install it from the distribution if available.
