@arstechnica I'm baffled by the idea that "the solution to the problem of Excel is The Cloud."

A simple relational database (MariaDB or PostGres) would be an ideal solution, and could be easily matched to a shiny front-end.

In other words, Cloud isn't a solution, it's a mechanism.
