In 1950, Totsuko engineer Nobutoshi Kihara introduced the Type G "Tapecorder," a pioneering audio recorder. It came in two versions: the G-type for institutions (with one hour of recording) and the A-type for homes (with 30 minutes). Marketed as "SONI-TAPE".
