Someone actually built a Chrome extension to "Hide annoying Google AI Overviews". LOL. @nixCraft it would be better to prevent the LLM results from being generated altogether. That would not just save us from the #LLM crap but also prevent the #CO2 emissions being created at all (maybe).
@nixCraft I tried to replace #googlesearch with #duckduckgo for a few months, but I was missing interesting links, so I was using more and more the !g to switch to Google Search.
Finally, I switched to #whoogle a #selfhosted version version of Google Search without any ads, JavaScript, AMP links, cookies, IP address tracking or Overviews.

When it was up, I made sure to leave feedback on the overview that suggested they go slap their mothers for letting themselves be born
The 'web' tab option is off the screen on my phone and isn't sticky.
