Honestly, I love the Charlotte airport 💜 yeah, it’s big and busy, but the gates are super accessible (there’s usually no need for me to take an air train to my gate, yay for that), there’s so many options to eat, there’s a million stores, bathrooms are clean, there’s places to sleep and charge your devices. I just love it.

What do you do with friends who refuse to put their phones down? Arghh! And these are friends who even read my blog about phone etiquette!

Went on a weekend trip with them and right now I could smack them both. They feel obligated to answer any call that comes in. For instance we are having a conversation in the car. The woman has to answer her phone and proceeds to take a 20 minute call, which impedes my ability to continue my convo with the 2 others. I'm so disgusted! 😡

@MondayMarionJ the only time a phone should come out while with friends is to show a picture, take a picture, play some cool song or to take a digital note of something shared , a book, place etc. maybe pay for something. I had a former "friend" who used to take her phone out during lunch and start scrolling tapping ect. I'm like are we done or what? Always made me feel like I wasn't valued, just that they didn't want to eat lunch alone. Guess that's why they now have the label former. 🤨

@MondayMarionJ cell phones and social media are the bane of humanities existence. Lately when I'm stuck in a situation like this it where someone is taking way too loud on the phone in a public place, I insert myself into the conversation. I mean I'm being included whether I want to or not so, I'm gonna speak up. Funny how people get real quiet when they realize their business is being broadcast.

takes deep breath I feel like a broken record apologizing for disappearing again, and kind of embarrassed tbh. Besides dealing with painful allergy symptoms—my face, like literally my eyeballs, felt bruised for several days—I’ve been trying to support a close friend who is struggling with some mental health issues and an unhealthy, potentially abusive, relationship. And we all know how terrible I am at multitasking. 1/2

Anyone have suggestions for burdock root? I managed to find some at our Asian grocer and have heard good things about it (high fiber, potentially lower cholesterol etc). I’ve had in gimbap but have no idea how to cook it. Looking at the inter webs for recipes but will happily try suggestions from here!

I got achey for some unknown today. Like what would it be like to settle on a coastal town in Korea (thanks Kdramas) or further up the Atlantic coast or an island somewhere warm or near a sister or a friend or near a new friend. I left my home town to kind of make a new home town. I didn't know I needed deep roots, but also freedom to be me. But today felt a bit achey for the world. Travel is definitely on my list to see and experience places. But I have to go at my pace and balance priorities.

@cinderdazzle612 naw it's a mood. I think the current state of the world@has made many of us restless. I too want deeper roots in someplace with a slower lifestyle that gives one some piece of mind. There connection with nature is the norm and there is room to quiet the mind from the static screaming that is the rest of the world. Change =growth and that's always good. Yeah rain has a funny way of adding reflection. 🫂💜

Back from the hospital, where I spent all day at the ER. Had several xrays done, which confirmed that I broke my wrist. They put my arm in a cast and a sling, then told me I needed an operation to put metal pins in my wrist. Will see orthopedix surgeon on Monday to discuss the operation. Am on antibiotics and painkillers. Just glad to be back home.

Tonight’s is a second attempt at Korean Fried Chicken. I’m experimenting this time - last time it felt that the chicken was actually pretty close to the famous BBQ “olive chicken” (like seen in Goblin). So I’m going to adjust the seasoning and see if I can make it.
