One thing that is amazing about that ship in Baltimore... is that for the most part - the weather has not been a disaster for them.

Occasional rain / wind storms - yes.

But thankfully this is not later in the summer season when hurricane's could be coming up the coast.

--
Refloated and towed to actual dock with cranes.

Immigration will be working with the crew to get them off the ship and off to home.

This ship will be offloaded, investigation will continue, and eventually repairs...

In the 80's, I'd go there with a group of folks as part of scuba trips... fairly regularly.

Hardly went there in 90's...

Wife and I went to local one about a decade ago. Was not a good memory. Didn't get sick or anything like that... just the whole experience was nothing like our 80's visits.

I don't think the buildings have ever been updated. There's having a theme... and there is saving money by not remodeling.

HCB sent me a recipe for artichoke. I love artichoke, & I was w/ her the 1st time I ever had them (at Baba Yaga in Houston--gawd, I loved that restaurant). It was a b-day lunch, & it's kind of wild anything tasted good that day, bc I had the worst hangover I'd ever had in my life. In fact, I'd woken up on HCB's bathroom floor that morning, freaking out, believing I'd gone blind ...

bc the black midi skirt I'd worn the night b4 was up over my head & I was still too hammered to realize it. +

I get a lot of different ones - via folks that drive by in their fancy cars.

I don't check often - but if I'm on the porch and traffic is heavy, such that a line of cars backs up (e.g. a train goes by as school lets out) --- I open wi-fi and see what pops up.

So much...

Learning / education opportunities.

It's all how you phrase it.

Don't let someone "fill-in the blank" with their own thoughts.

Hiking, biking, walking, travel -- all have learning opportunities.

Only issue might be outcome as formal documentation. Is that important. Does it directly fit your future employment goals.

Thanasis' post popped into my view, hence I jumped into the thread w/no prior knowledge of subject matter.

Mirror seemed like a way for person to view themselves - intentionally or not.

Maybe it is incidental to what they might be looking at in what is now behind them... or out the corner of their eye or as a way to keep an eye on someone else.

Reading other responses... is family portrait's (paint or camera) an option?

If I ever saw/met a Yeti (aka Bigfoot, abominable snowman)...

You can be sure I would never tell anyone!

Why? Because humans are bad, when it comes to this type of interaction.

Too many would want to kill it ("fear")

Too many would want to kill & study it ("science")

The only safe thing to do - is to leave it alone!

There's usually a pre-cursor leading to main event. Decade prior to WWI and WWII... there was ramp up.

Are we on a similar path?
Future historians will document it. We get to live it. Is this what it was like in 1910-1914? Or 1930's?

Someone associates "top of the world" with the Arctic.

More continent land is in northern hemisphere.

Mass generally sinks to the bottom.

Hence... Antarctica is the Top of the World.

'The power-user way to use Google Search web now takes a lot of clicks. You'd want to click on "more" and then "Web" for actual web results, and then to get Google to actually pay attention to the words you type in, you'd want to click "Tools" and change "all results" to "verbatim." Alternatively, you could also find a more web-focused search engine instead of Google.'

So learning to search is all that needs to be learned... versus learning to research and formulate a response from the available content.
