does Twitch's ops team ever post stats and graphs around popular events? would be kinda cool to see transcoder performance counters, IO throughput, caching stats, etc. throughout a GDQ week.

I wonder if they do anything proactive like QoS or planned load scaling.

@gsuberland I'm sure I've seen a couple of presentations in the past given at tech conferences. I'd find it extremely unlikely anything would be put out now though, as it requires a certain amount of pride in your platform and company, and... well... birdsite innit.

Any Fedi pals recommend me an MP3 player please, something like an old Archos Jukebox which just plays from folders of MP3s in filename order? Needs to be battery, little LCD/LED screen, at least 16GB. Presents as USB storage device so I can just dump files.

Failing that if anyone has a RPi Zero-W project I can crib, but tbh I’d just prefer to buy a cheap unit from somewhere. It’s only for listening to demos without all that Apple Music faff or jumping through hoops.

Anyone, please?

Done some analysis and I consider it a success that under the ridiculous load of my little server only lagged about 6 minutes behind at the worst point. I did think it was more, but then I was a little tipsy when I got in last night.

I saw some larger instances were up to about 70 minutes at one point so I'll chalk this one down as a win. Well done, Fedi.
