Installed #syncthing on my 2 linux machines last night. Seems to be working so far, though I haven't yet figured out exactly how it all works -- what syncs with what, how often, etc. But they can see each other and share.

Next is trying to get it going on my Win10 machine. For some reason, that makes me nervous! But if I can get all 3 synced, and #emacs working on all of them, I'll be pretty jazzed.

Tjo, Handy & Token Verknüpfung gescheitert bei Nichts mit neuem yubico Token 😠 fürs Finanzonline heuer.

Fido Token Verknüpfung ist wohl am SP gescheitert. Rote Box mit Session-ID, Support Bot kennt sich nicht aus und hilft mir nicht. Frust bei mir! Handy-Verknüpfung nicht besser -QR-Code Scan fehlgeschlagen, da vom dummen User (mir) im DigitalenAmt nicht auffindbar. Fail 2.

Bleibts' dann bei SMS Token... Uff. Da war ich mit der Handysignatur schon mal weiter.

Seit Tagen wird #Ebreichsdorf mit Absperrgitter zugepflastert. Hintergrund: 1. Juni findet das einzige #metallica Konzert in Österreich und im Juli ein Hip-Hop Festival statt.

@pedro Lemmy is better but doesn't offer me as much openness as I would hope for an alternative.

IMHO, the Usenet is still much superior even to lemmy. I might as well ignore all web forums including lemmy in future and try to find free Usenet servers and groups related to my interests.

@ademir_lemmy_br @pedro I can follow your rationale but I guess that won't be possible.

Maybe lemmy + AP will develop into something as good as the Usenet but so far I don't see it yet.

I'll re-evaluate in a couple of years when the core of lemmy seemed to be stable and a number of alternative clients with at least half of the advanced Usenet-client features I was using decades ago are available.

So far, lemmy just seems to copy reddit with most of its conceptual downsides except federation.

@ademir_lemmy_br @pedro If lemmy (or some other community) would provide a AP-to-NNTP gateway, I would reconsider because then I'd be able to use the advanced client features I'm looking for.

Don't see that coming either. 🤷

With more and more platforms failing, I get picky where I contribute to. I'd rather not than use something I'm not convinced of. Focusing on my blog (Atom/RSS) + Mastodon + book writing + giving PIM lectures in RL seems to be my path as it seems.

YMMV of course 🙇

@GeschichteFM Zum Thema Vernichtung von Büchern und #Digitalisierung will ich anmerken, dass es vermutlich noch nie so einfach war, Millionen von Büchern zu vernichten.

Wenn beispielsweise die #Amazon-Server ihre #DRM-"geschützten" #Bücher nicht mehr online freischalten, sind extrem viele Produkte auf einen Schlag "vernichtet".

Ganz egal, dass man dafür Geld gezahlt hat. Man erwirbt nur das Nutzerrecht aber ein DRM-Produkt gehört immer nur dem Konzern.

One of the features I love in XCode is the sticky lines showing the class/method you've scrolled down in.

I love it so much I'm desperate to also have it in Android Studio, turns out it's coming in the next version! (Koala 2024.1.1)
