The performance is at the James M Nederlander theater, which is a boring AF name for a theater so I did some reading. It was named The Oriental Theater before this, which I remember. What I didn’t know is The Oriental was built on the site of the Iroquois Theatre, where the deadliest theatre fire and the deadliest single-building fire in U.S. history happened. 600 people died, over double the death toll of the Chicago Fire. Which led the city to enact new laws that addressed aisleway and exit standards, scenery fireproofing, and occupancy limits (per Wikipedia).

So that place is totally haunted.

Guys. My mom was awake for her hip replacement. AWAKE. They gave an epidural and nerve block to the hip and leg, with some light sedation. She was like oh yeah I heard them hammering 😂 She woke up pain free and happy she had it done. PT tomorrow to see if she can escape the hospital by evening. Thanks for the well wishes and good juju!

@GrimmReality Yeah. I totally assumed general anesthesia. Is this what we’re doing now? Granted I had epidurals with my c-sections so, yeah, I guess this is what we’re doing. Recovery is a lot easier?
