Interesting. This is in "Scientific Reports," a journal published by Nature Portfolio, which publishes a number of research journals, including "Nature." This journal does not have the same standards and prestige as the journal "Nature," but it is peer-reviewed.

I often mix the 1st three (with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic) into a dressing, e.g., for quinoa salad:

tahini/sesame oil
soy sauce/tamari
various vinegars
mayo
honey/maple syrup

It's difficult to choose an excerpt to introduce the piece b/c it's all so important and chilling but the piece ends with this: "If you have transgender kids, or you're transgender yourself, you've got to try to leave the country if Trump and the fascists win."

Hmm. After Oct 7 I set up a filter that I called "barbarism" for posts with certain words. I don't know what's going on, but I am seeing that a lot of barbarism posts have been filtered in my feed today. I'm sure I'll find out. ☹

@DemocracySpot That's probably wise. I'm trying to walk a line between not reading about disturbing stuff and still knowing what's happening. Kind of a catch 22.

In October, the #Apple tree that I described earlier, that grew wild at the edge of the highway, was not a wild Apple, I'm certain. @adapples
Next spring, I will be trying to clone it by budding. It matches the consistency and taste of the 'Kings' Apple, but not exactly as large.
I've posted this before, but there's no way to find this now, using Mastodon's search options.
I had to go back to the phone and you retrieve it from October. On the left is the wild, on the right store bought.

A sample video taken at night, after the snow has been coming down for the last hour. It's not overly deep, but it covers everything, wet and sticky. @capla Good idea! Something warm/bright-colored. I have a red fleece vest I can wear. But it's not that cold here -- it's around 60 (F).

Oh, let's see if I can use the trick I learned for converting C to F (or vice versa) in my head...

(60 - 32) = 28
10% of 28 = 2.8
28 + 2.8 = 30.8 (I'll round up to 31)
31/2 = 15.5 C

I think that's close enough!

@Rasta Hmm, not quite as warm for a nice winter visit/vacation. But I'm sure it could be lovely. I've never been to AR, but every state has something lovely about it. Though plane travel in the age of covid is not that appealing, at least not to me.
