I’m having a Sunday night slump; I’ve been doing some dreary work all day, and I have a lot more to do next week. Maybe I’ll get a good song or two.

You may find Ann Coulter (Coultergeist) brings little of value to the table, but her vitriolic rhetoric on Fox is what first woke me up to the hate of the Other that was infiltrating the GOP about 20 years ago.

I left the GOP then, mostly because of Coulter, and because George Bush failed humanity with his lack of requisite compassion during Katrina.

So thanks, Ann. Carry on your ugliness, and may God keep exposing it to the light as more Republicans run away from you.

Sometimes a random Roy Orbison song pops in my head and I love it. Roy passed when I was only 8. But that's how powerful that dude was. His songs still pop in my head, despite the fact that never really actively listen to them. That's art. That's eternal.

Eddie, you prob know the answer to this... I posted a link via Songlink to a song "That's the Way of the World," and then in my next post, I posted a Songlink link to a different song "Better Now." But the image connected to my "Better Now" link keeps coming up as "That's the Way of the World."

Last spring, going for my morning walk, I was alarmed to smell fresh smoke.
No one near me burns wood, it was early, there was no sign of where it was coming from, I checked for chimneys all around. Finally, I had to call 911.
Firefighters too could smell it, and we went on a tour of the neighbourhood trying to find the source. And Nothing.

Today, just before sunrise again, (I had headphones on) my street was flooded in Red lights. It happened again, someone else must have called it in. /2

@w7voa I have read and boosted your piece because I think it's important. I echo what Bruce Mirken and others say about Mastodon being the best there is, if only because it's not owned by a billionaire/profit-seekers -- which is a huge consideration, I will add.

One tangential comment: I see over and over again some version of "Mastodon can be technically overwhelming for novices." Maybe I just don't remember, but I didn't find it all that difficult -- and I'm not a tech person.
