Its not just FAccT. There are lots of other ways your institutions may be entangled with the genocide in Palestine. 1. Many tech corporations, large and small, contract with the Israeli government -- even non-military contractors. 2. Many of our labs receive grants from the U.S. department of defense, which has massively supported the ongoing Israeli military assaults on Palestine. Even seemingly inoccous projects are often co-opted & used for weapons research. 3. Many of our universities' endowments are invested in arms manufacturers & complicit corporations via their hedge funds. For example, of the University of Michigan's $23B endowment, 62% was in high risk investments connected to weapons manufacturers & the Israeli state. Universities know this, & they are calling the police on their own students & faculty protesting the occupation, sometimes to violent ends. How do we fight back? Start conversations with your colleagues. How can we be more connected? Participate in the ongoing Boycott, Divest, Sanction movement. Where does your money go? Map the flow of military funding into your own research groups. Whose money are you taking? Coordinate actions with your coworkers & colleagues, like sick-outs or sit-ins. When I worked at Google, there was a semblance of "labor laws" that they might be slightly afraid of, in theory.

In the nonprofit sector, we have white women going around naming Black & Arab women as threats to THEIR safety & I find out about it from someone they said this to.

White women in the nonprofit sector are very networked, because white male billionaires wanna give them their $ to do "good." If they don't give it to their white dude friends, they'll give it to the white women doing "good."

The level of white fragility from white women in this cursed sector talking about "being attacked" & "feeling threatened" while claiming to do "justice" or "community" is nauseating. At least at tech co.s it was understood that "doing good" was just propaganda after profit

Speaking of "AI Safety," Max Tegmark was chillin with Netanyahu & Elmo a few months ago talking about "existential risks to humanity" they collectively need to "save" us from, & dude's institute recently got ~$700M from TESCREAL crypto billionaire.

Masters of gaslighting.

And because they don't have enough money and influence, and haven't caused enough harm, people tell us to "build bridges" to them to ensure they have access to every imaginable space.

Friends, I haven't read the Chuck Schumer "report" on AI. Why should I? I knew where it was headed by seeing who they invited (and when they tried to invite me as a back fill/window dressing) & the fact that he asked people what their "p(doom)" was shudder. They keep on wasting our times with all this. We knew this was what it was going to end up in. Did you see who was invited and what their topics were? The senator referred to "god like AI." Him and his likes are 100% captured by the TESCREALists which should tell us what policy they would come up with.
