@hotdogsladies it’s actually really well done, I’m mostly teasing because it’s fun that Marino and the priest are supposed to speak Portuguese but their dialogs are always in English.

I'm planning to add a setting to Dato to show free time between events. How should it be presented? This is my first take.

@sindresorhus not bad but not particularly good either.

Finding a way to present that free time so it’s more visual would go a long way.

But avoiding grabbing more vertical space.

Interesting challenge. I’ll keep thinking about it.

Every few weeks the same thing with Signal for Mac. Same for WhatsApp. Only iMessage gets this right and treats non-phone devices as first-class clients that can actually log in on their own.

@gruber That’s right. You can open an encrypted chat on Telegram but it’s not the default and has limitations.

(Also, I truly think that Meta reads WhatsApp messages for advertising purposes, I have no evidence but also no doubts that’s the case)

In the latest Dato update, you can now run a shortcut when joining a video call. This could, for example, be used to activate "do not disturb" or run some script.

@sindresorhus this is SO useful for me. Literally last week I made a shortcut where I activate DND, change screen resolution and deactivate widgets. I run it with keyboard shortcut, but now it will be automatic.

Anyone else finding Bluetooth pretty rough in Sonoma? My AirPods get really crackly (only on my Sonoma Mac) and I end up runnning sudo pkill bluetoothd multiple times daily

Sadly returning my Vision Pro:

  • Poor tracking in comfortable light
  • Constantly need to realign between wearings
  • Autofocus doesn't work well w/my eyes
  • Must be near Mac to init connect
  • Usable Mac resolutions too limited for poor sight
  • Lens glare in darker envs
  • Headaches
  • Fogs up too often
  • Shocking num of apps missing and actively abstaining

Too many issues to risk "fixed in rev 2" after spending $4k on device, lenses, and extras.

I'm depressed about it but have to be realistic.
