OC I created a site that helps people search the fediverse (programmer2514.github.io)

I had been having trouble getting meaningful results from the fediverse on Google, and after seeing this post, it seems I'm not the only one. So, I created a site that helps search the fediverse in your search engine of choice (it currently supports Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Dogpile)....

I didn’t at first, either, but when I am looking at a post, it tells me where I’m at. So I think it almost functions like breadcrumbs. It tells me that I’m looking at a a thread as opposed to a microblog, and where it is – on my instance, or someplace else

Haven’t figured out yet if it is also showing like the most active

Some days ago I switched from Reddit to Kbin and already I like fediverse.

In here, I should stand on my creativity, not on my consumption.
I feel like if I were accessing early internet.
I discovered again that creativity is very exciting and joyful for me.

I’m having the same thoughts, especially that feeling of looking through the keyhole. Being on a tablet or laptop is a much better experience.

If you are on mobile, there may not be? That dialogue at the bottom of the page I think it's supposed to be in a sidebar

In one of the settings there are a lot of menus / side bars that you can turn on that are off by default, it took some digging for me this morning to put all of that together

The mobile browser experience especially on iOS is not great but I know an app is coming

fwiw the desktop experience is tons better. under settings, make sure you turn infinite scroll off, so you can finally see where you are. happy hunting.

I would def like to see more themes, but at least for iOS in Safari and chrome there are 2 light, 2 dark, and 1 sepia themes which is awesome

I can't remember exactly what page it was on, maybe settings at the bottom?

Wanted to say thank you for the link, and also for the instructions there to tell me how to follow from kbin. Although I had to drop the initial ! to find a subscribe button. That is probably user error. fediverse is confusing af tbh
