Zonder internet bridges enzo gewoon in #homekit. https://shop.tado.com/nl-bx/products/smart-thermostat-x-wired
PawelK, Polish @mstankiewicz hmmm no tak.
developerjustin, For my #HomeKit nerds: is it possible, via app or otherwise, to trigger an automation when an indoor temperature sensor detects a temp that is higher than the current outside temp via weather? I see how to do it with set/specific temps but I’m looking for a way to notify me if I need to get the AC/fans going before it gets too hot.
bricks, @developerjustin this kind of automation should be possible with the 3rd party HomeKit app Home+ 6. I have many even more complex automations running in my Smart Home.
speisekarte, @developerjustin This works with an automation converted into a shortcut. I am using something similar to close my blinds when there are high temperatures expected for the afternoon.
jgamet, I just spent a rediculous amount of time troubleshooting why I can’t add new devices to HomeKit. I even went so far as to try a different WiFi base station. Either I have the single most esoteric network setup—which isn’t likely—or parts of HomeKit are fundamentally broken. Again. #homekit #apple #smarthome #fail
glennf, @jgamet So frustrating!
bazcurtis, @jgamet @glennf This is why I try and get as many devices connected directly to Home Assistant. I then publish that back to HomeKit.
This is not related to your issue, but if you have orginal HomePods, like we do, it can make Matter devices go offline. My Eve plugs would go offline all time.
Eve support told me this
Since Matter devices do not talk Bluetooth anymore, any 'old' home hub in the sense of not being Thread-enabled may cause a disruption if it is the leading hub.

ssamulczyk, I’m this close to just dropping some cash on Ubiquity cameras but I’ve found this #HomeBridge gold!
https://github.com/seydx/homebridge-camera-ui
It can take any RTSP camera, including my most shitty YI hacked garbage and turn it into motion detecting #HomeKit secure video supporting device…🥰
tosbourn, (edited ) Do you have recommendations for a networked (can get data from an app), HomeKit enabled air quality sensor?
Don't need a specific data point measured, just something that acts as a proxy for "air quality getting better/worse".
Battery-powered would be preferred, sockets are at a premium!
tosbourn, @OpinionatedGeek this is really good to know, thank you!
Wouldn’t have even considered they’d have fans.
tosbourn, @gernot had the Eve Room running for a few days now and very much enjoying the new data points! Thanks again!
craiggrannell, Upgraded to iOS 17.3.1. All my #HomeKit settings are gone. FFS. Weirdly, my wife can still see the shared home, but then she’s still on 17.2.1.
Alexa just worked. Why can’t this?
craiggrannell, Ah, no. My wife tried to change something and it’s all gone for her too. Excellent. Thrilled about the prospect of spending my Sunday setting all this stuff up for the third time. And then jumping through hoops trying to invite her.
It says something that most of our HomeKit set up is HomePods and Apple TVs. So this is Apple kit and Apple kit. Gah.
ij_baird,
bitprophet, #HomeKit is broken enough post-update that I must temporarily stand up #HomeAssistant to see if it can work around the problems.
Eg: of my 4 RGB lightstrips, 2 fail to 'hear' updates triggered by Siri or Automations, only updating when the Home app is used to invoke the relevant scene.
If this is an issue with the devices (unlikely) or the Thread network (possible?) Hass won't help. But if it’s bugs in Homekit "central”, as seems likely…?
I assume Hass won't help w/ Siri tho 🙃
vcdx71, @bitprophet of or works in HA you can use the HomeKit bridge to expose it to HomeKit so Siri would work..
bitprophet, @vcdx71 true, it depends a lot on how much HomeKit I leave in the mix.
gernot, German So, you have a product or an app, and you want to do what Apple does but they don’t let you, and your request is reasonable without many downsides?
Look, there is a RIGHT to do that, and the EU enforces that, so Apple had to put up a form: https://developer.apple.com/contact/request/interoperability/
I can think of a lot of things in the #HomeKit API, where this applies. Why can’t I access TVs? Why can’t I set „adaptive Lighting“? And the list goes on and on.
/via @aaron_pearce
aaron_pearce, German @gernot It is a huge list of why can Apple do it, but not us in the end with no given reasons.
gernot, German @aaron_pearce Though what makes me easy about it is that their home team is occupied working on something that we don’t see, because except the half-done Matter framework and the unsatisfying Home ap rewrite we don’t see anything since years. And with all this stuff I doubt it will go the same way it did in the past.
Especially if you look at the EU DMA vs the US Epic ruling: We now know that good legislation works and provides actual results.
nxtbgthng, German Wallflower 2.0 is released, a #HomeKit dashboard for your iPad! It’s a complete rewrite, and besides a lot of HomeKit features it adds Weather and Calendar support. Even syncs some preferences via iCloud! And for this release week there is the code RELEASEWEEK that you can enter to get the first 3 months for €9.99! https://nxtbgthng.com/wallflower
kevinctofel,
theotherlinh, @kevinctofel I wanted to do this with my Nest footage. Unfortunately, the newer versions (Google Home app only cameras) heavily restrict the video history and what is downloadable. I feel like I missed this on your old podcast and it’s infuriating how limiting Google has made it.
ericleamen, I have a #HomeKit automation to automatically turn on my living room lamps 30 minutes before sunset. But some days it gets cloudy outside and dark inside much sooner than that.
Is there such thing as a smart indoor light sensor, to control my lamps depending on how dark or light it is inside my apartment?
gernot, German @ericleamen Yes. Philips Hue Motion sensor has that. As do some cameras.

gernot, German @spezl Aqara.
ssamulczyk, #GoodMorning #Sunday! Let’s start this shitty day by needing to reset an #EveThermo #HomeKit device, but I lost the HomeKit pairing code…🤡 #Apple #SmartHome
ssamulczyk, @james I do not dare to reset it, while it still works as a thermostat, just cannot connect to the app. Once reset, it’s done, no idea if I can configure it again. I reached out to support, no way to retrieve that code. I even tore it apart in hope it’s somehow printed inside… Worst case, I have to buy a new device. Entirely my fault as they warn you to safekeep that damn code…😂
arda, Turkish 🇹🇷 RGB Smart bulb tavsiyelerinizi alırım 🙏
Dalak böbrek parası olmayan, Apple HomeKit'e (ve HomeAssistant'a) bağlanan, RGB smart bulb arıyorum.
serdar_basegmez, Turkish
arda, @serdar_basegmez @emin bunu bilmiyordum, çok iyi dedin, bunu cepte sayarak baştan bakayım abi 🙏
arda, Woke up today to see my smart bulb got stuck on pairing mode, and when it does it, it blinks consistently. I had to try pairing it for an hour, and then gave up and plugged my spare. Hello sunday morning with migrane 😔
#sunday #migrane #homekit #homeassistant #smartbulb #bulb #led #morning
arda, I believe the reason the red and blue leds were so hollow on this bulb was because only the square LEDs were trying to carry those light waves.
The outer circle's silk screen says c1...c10 and w1...w10 , which I believe is both for whites (cold white 1 ... cold white 10, and warm white 1 .... warm white 10).
I'm looking ways to salvage and make us of that #ESP8685 module.
The light PCB looks okay, so I'll save it as a spare or will tinker over it.
arda, Oh and this bulb was making home calls, but I blocked it.
I used this GitHub repository to connect this to Home Assistant, and it works flawlessly:
https://github.com/yangqian/hass-cozylife
There are some helpful notes in the README file of that GitHub repository.
Barredo, Spanish @csahuquillo @vidalpascual jajajajaj mola mil
jimmylittle, Nine years into #HomeKit and you still need a third party app to “turn this light off after 20 minutes”
jimmylittle, @matthewcassinelli Yes, but my family doesn’t use Siri, they use light switches.
All the switches are in Home and all I want to do is set a rule that says the closet light should turn off 20 minutes after someone turns it on.
matthewcassinelli, @jimmylittle I haven't tested it recently, but the Wait action did get extended recently – it might be possible for a Home Automation to Wait 20 minutes and then act again
bodomenke, German Habe gerade #myStrom “entdeckt”…

#SmartHome #Matter #Thread"
- welchen findet ihr besser?
eurozerozero, I have questions about what's going on in this scene… 😶
