    @InternetEh this is one of the reasons the Bronze Age became a special interest for me, everything fell apart and everybody went back to ground for a bit but people rebuilt and regrouped because that's what people do

    Your kid's in real pain, don't sit back and make them talk to a camera. Have some very basic compassion for your child. You get a bunch of likes on social media? Cool, and they get the knowledge their parents would rather laugh at their pain than help them

    We went to an out of town Waffle House on the way back from a trip and when we got out of the car we saw two employees fighting next to the dumpster and that's when we knew the the food would be incredible even for Waffle House; it absolutely was

    Once I went to Waffle House on a terrible day and was fighting back tears and the waitress came up to our table and said "we just happened to make an extra waffle, would anyone at this table like it?" while looking directly at me, it was absolutely an incredible waffle

    We used to go to Waffle House a lot in high school and got to know one of the cooks pretty well and they had one of the old school Waffle House jukeboxes and he put Mambo No 5 on repeat the whole time we were there, he had a whole coordinated dance to it while he was cooking

    @Setok this drawing is from an illuminated manuscript about the Bible book of Revelations, regarding a false prophet. it really sank into folklore, there are a lot of stories that involve a good person being blessed with diamonds and pearls dropping from their mouths when they speak and a bad person being cursed with frogs and snakes. so I'm pretty sure that there's a good chance the Finnish expression is absolutely connected to the same source!
