After #JoyOfLife2, my brain is rebelling at the thought of watching anything, well, not as good 😅. #TheDouble is very buzzy, but I know I will be very harsh on it (in terms of writing & acting), so I have decided to watch Under the Microscope, starring Zhang Ruo Yun. It's about math and taxes. Ikr?? But it's seriously more interesting that that!
Also, With You, an anthological TV show about #COVID19's effects on #China's society.
Dropped Midnight studio (left) and decided to read recaps instead. I actually soldiered on with Now, it's Showtime and I want my time back, even if I fast forwarded and skipped a lot of scenes 😅 Too many filler scenes, uneven story telling which didn't manage the comedy and angst well. And worse of all, boring 😅. With Midnight Studio I got bored by the 4th ep because I just knew where the story was going, and judging by the recaps I was right.
This is soooo sad! Dr Michael Mosley was an amazing thinker whose documentary on fasting I rewatched regularly. I loved his health series and podcasts.
I just want to say that if you do go for a hike, especially at a new place, please tell people where you are going and if possible don't go alone.
Who knew that the best task app I have ever used, is able to sticky on top like I have always wanted to and on top of that, free ...turns out to be Microsoft To Do 😆
I am currently writing my thoughts about each arc of #JoyOfLife2. Bookmark this page as I will be adding my thoughts for a few weeks. (You'd need to return to this page for my updated thoughts)
A question I need answered. Why do U Western folks eat rice with a fork? Is it cos it's unclassy to use a spoon? Is it because you like the physical and mental challenge? Is it because you need to slow down your consumption of the carb? Such a mystery
@liztai spoon are more for liquids and dessert. You might even see us eat mash potatoes with foks. This is genrally because they are generally accompanied by meat that definetly need a fork.
@liztai Definitely unclassy to use a spoon. It is for desert, soup, or children who don’t know how to use a fork yet. “We” will sometimes use chopsticks though!
Woke up with three trapped bees in the study and a cockroach staring me down at the hall. Alas, I have been lax with the trash 😅
The bees, however, is the consequence of living on top of a hill covered with trees. Good on some days (birdsong can't be beat), but the downsides can be prickly wildlife which includes bees and snakes 🤭
Yeah I'm known for listening to hard rock, metal music, and edgy ethnic tunes. But I also veer wildly to the other side - here's a selection of my favourite Chinese songs, mostly ballads, mostly culled from Chinese dramas, predictably lol
