Trying to watch #MortalEngines for the first time and... Holy shit is this movie rushed 😑 even overlooking the plot holes and ridiculous defiance of physics, there's no time to get to know any of the characters... Which I guess doesn't matter as much since they all fit their cliche archetype to a T 😒 at least it's pretty, but that's about literally all it has going for it.

so the kids came home with flyers announcing that TONIGHT is a dinner benefit thing at a restaurant where the school gets half the profit for a set time and they were very excited about it, but my seven year old immediately took his clothes off as per usual...I said "why are you getting naked if we're going out for dinner?" and he replied "that's hoourrs away, I have pleeenty of time!" Finally doing my civic duty to vote in the Nov 7 local Washington elections and as per usual, I can find shit-all about a bunch of the candidates, even promotional posts put out by their own team. I'm trying to be a responsible voter, but like, even putting in the extra effort to research that very, very few voters will bother with (not to mention the 2/3rds of the country that doesn't bother to vote at all [not counting those in underserved areas where voting is made especially difficult for low-income people]) they make it very very hard? Not even so much as a Facebook page for the candidates, which considering they're almost all boomers you'd think they'd at least have. 😠

I've been at it for about half an hour, and so far I've spent maybe five minutes walking, and all the rest has just been standing there waiting for npcs to stop talking to each other. I'M HOME! finally home to my dark, stinky, dirty, pet-filled home, but at least it's home... Maybe now if/when the kids finally return to school (it was supposed to be Wednesday but now the teachers are striking so who knows) I can put more effort into house cleaning... Maybe livestream naked while I do it so I'm at least "making content" 😂 (I'm kidding... At least about the naked part. Hey there are twitch and tiktok streams of just people working in a pizza kitchen or typing onto a laptop [without showing the screen] with hundreds of people concurrently watching, so why not?)

For now, I'm heating premade calzone for dinner, and catching up on news clips while the kids promptly trash their room with the large Lego Space Needle Model they chose from the gift store. I'm really glad all I have scheduled tomorrow is the back to school night in the evening... Matthew has work right away, but he says there are projects he's eager to get back to anyway.

Crimany, tiktok will auto-caption the videos for you, and as long as it's not too noisy, it does a fairly good job... Would three more button presses really break your finger??
