Arvo, Toots. Disturbed night again - and managed to somehow sleep through two alarms - if hadn’t come out got me up, I would have missed my online appointment with my psychiatrist! Oops! That out of the way, I have now found there is yet another fee associated with the South Australian family grave transfer documents, and the MoooAaaning cooow scissor lift is back in operation across the road. Think I’ll start a pot of soup.

Just been insulted (called a Brit!) and blocked for saying Hamas is not representing the Palestinians.

If someone considers Hamas a goodfaith actor in this mess, I think their hat might be screwed on too tight. Israel under Netanyahu is murderour garbage too, but Hamas is a terrorist, criminal organisation, and I mean that without the smallest hyperbole.

I know standards in public life have slipped dreadfully since the World Trade Centre attacks, but I am genuinely utterly shocked at the temper tantrum being thrown by senior members of the American congress over Trump’s conviction, and them laying the entire blame on Biden. Have things degraded so much that they can assume most of the public won’t care about them doing this? Or do they really think no one could think less of them for this disgusting, amoral stance?

@Fury Politicians lie, of course. But it’s the outright corruption proudly on display at the moment, the obvious and shameless doing of Putin’s bidding, and the insistence that the law only applies to some people, that shocks me.

Or rather that they no longer care that people know what they’re doing. They’re proud of being puppets for one man’s ambition.

@lycophidion I think if you think Israel (or rather, Netanyahu) is the only barrier to peace, you’re wrong. Let’s not pretend Hamas is any kind of sincere or credible organisation. They’re terrorists and criminals. They’re as much to blame for what’s going as Bibi. But Biden has now thrown his weight behind a peace settlement, and Bibi and Hamas will have to show good faith (for a change)
