I'm a brand new Street Fighter player. I've very casually played Mortal Kombat since I was a kid, but I never took any fighting game seriously. I'm having a great time playing ranked SF6, and I can already see improvement. All of these characters are new to me other than Ryu and Ken being in Smash and hearing some of the other...
I'm an Ultra Gold SFV player. In SF6, I picked the 3rd option at the beginning and got Ken to Plat_1 and Lily Plat_3. My Ken fought Diamond and Plat. My Lily has better win rate but only fought Gold and Silver. It's a bit all over the place....
@mrpablington - my favorite reviewer gave it a 7.5 in the nicest possible way. Grindy and tiny, but it scratches the fight/loot/upgrade itch. There may be too much overlap between characters, we'll see.
Anyone playing on the steam deck? How do you feel about d-pads that don't have diagonals? I play on a Xbox gamepad most of the time, so the deck's pad feels wonky.
Trying to get in more from my Steam library since I've had stuff on there forever, lol. For a long time before cloud saves became a thing it was hard to get through games. I'd tinker with my OS too hard and break it often. Now that I can set up extra library folders in a fresh Steam install and copy the old folder into it, it's easier to continue games with local only save files.
Been researching fight sticks for potentially playing #SF6 on PS5 and holy crap, this is confusing! 😩 Everything seems to be super expensive, always out of stock, maybe works with a firmware update, requires an adaptor, will/won't require another controller to be plugged in...
I just want to plug in a USB cable, have everything I need, and for it to just work 100% of the time. Any thoughts?
For the sake of making this place a bit livelier...
Does anyone else have this problem of being particularly bad against less experienced players? I often lose to lower-ranked (or when non-applicable, clearly less experienced) players and feel inadequate afterwards. I think I sometimes just... auto-pilot and try to force a gameplan that doesn't necessarily work on whatever they're spamming ?
@Trobador I feel you. It's frustrating to have to use all you mental power to stop random DIs and sweeps when you're trying to actually learn. And if you pressure correctly, it's also frustrating because you loop the same thing over and over until you win.
Bonus points when you lose the first round because of something random, then win the next two then they don't even rematch.
@heartburn I'm glad we agree. Maybe the trick is to have a punish game good enough that you can just let them do whatever, punish and win in two interactions or so.
A.K.I drops in Autumn, she's one of the ones I've been interested in so I'm excited. Interestingly there seems to be a focus on her in World Tour at launch.

The 'full' early access release of I Am Future just dropped on Steam. I played the demo version to death, so I'll be putting a few hours in this weekend.
the REFramework mod on nexus lets you use free cam mode to take whatever screenshots you want. The stages are not as fleshed out as SFV in the backgrounds, but close-ups of objects can get very detailed.
I've seen this sort of thing on other FGC communities in the past, so I figured I'd do something for Kbin. It's been about a month since SF6 came out, so I want to see what people think of the game's current meta. I'll leave this poll open for a couple weeks to get as many responses as possible. For calculating results, I'll use...
Here comes Rashid! Watch what the Soaring Eagle is capable of as he puts on a masterclass of parkour and wind mastery - all for your viewing pleasure.Twitter...
This is my first Street Fighter and also first serious fighting game. I've been grinding from rookie all the way to silver with several characters. I started playing Rashid yesterday morning, learned the basics, and then did my placement matches last night. To my surprise, I placed in Gold 1! That was my long term goal until...
Now that Street Fighter 6 has been in the hands of players for a few weeks now and the new game smell is starting to fade a bit, we're starting to hear more about the issues people are seemingly ...
