So since the mass-exodus from Reddit we can see that the total amount of active users has gone down rather heavily: i.imgur.com/MeQok2F.png...
Lemmy.world grew from around 51000 total users the moment 3rd party reddit apps started to shut down on June 30 to 71000 total users at the time of this post (July 1). That’s a 40% growth in about 12 hours!...
Seems like they are under attack again, will those people never stop? I feel sorry for the admin team.

My experience with the Fediverse has only been through Mastodon, through which I struggled to find a community I really gelled with. Either it was supper overwhelming with meme posts or NSFW, or it was too chill to the point of nothing. Or, it was hyperfocused like FOSS/Linux and became uninteresting after awhile. Just a little rant. When I first visited Lemmy Sites a couple of months ago it felt empty. Besides the really mainstream community pretty much everything else just felt empty....

This has come to mind because all the chatter about Meta federating....
It feels like the amount of both, divisive posts and ghoulish comments is rising again....
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Meta is moving forward with their plans for Theads and the Fediverse, and their adjusted terms reflect a new impending reality for Fediverse users.
