I keep rereading this piece. One of the things I love about aphelion's work is how simply she starts, leading you with small steps down into the piece, and suddenly you find yourself above the stars, floating on her words, in an inner space where the void brings not terror, but echoes of wisdom.
Her work was the first of true quality I encountered in the Fediverse when I joined, and was one of the first indications that the Fediverse would make a good place for the #13thFloor.
