@gbhnews the Kyles are very disorganized. I know a Kyle who went to the previous Kyle gathering and said it was so chaotic he would not go back. You don't attract many Kyles with hours-long lines at the beer tent.
@gbhnews The missing piece people don't talk about but should is transportation. It matters less how many miles away you are from where you work than how long it takes you to get there. How fast, reliable, frequent & affordable are public transit options? Is there safe biking infrastructure? If you're forced to drive, how bad is the traffic?
@gbhnews Hub-and-spoke public transportation like Boston's instead of a grid also really limits where you can live if you want to take public transit to work. Trains running once every 2 hours off peak limits real-world usability for people outside the urban core. And so on.
If you could live 25 miles out with train service running twice an hour even on weekends that took 30 mins to the city, housing demand would be more spread out.
We are not serious about needed infrastructure.
